Timbuktu was once a bustling hub of learning. From the 13th to the 16th centuries, it hosted a university. Scholars from as far as Cairo and Baghdad flocked here, drawn by its collection of hundreds of thousands of manuscripts on subjects ranging from astronomy, chemistry, and mathematics to law. These manuscripts are a treasure trove of African history, though many are now at risk of deterioration.

The reason most of the manuscripts in Timbuktu were written in Arabic was because the original Arabs where actually black Africans. The Berbers, the Moors, and the original Arabs were all black Africans and the Arabic language which they wrote has roots in African languages. Classical Arabic is similar to biblical Hebrew (they both sound alike and they both have many words that mean the same thing) and biblical Hebrew has roots in many African languages.

I’ll do you one better, the Sabaeans; were an ancient group of South Arabians. They spoke Sabaic, one of the Old South Arabian languages. They founded the kingdom of Saba in modern-day Yemen(yes, there’s still A LOT of black people there today)… they came from ancient Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Eritrea. So Damn right right they were black African. Literally started the Arab tradition that they’re so fond of being racist. Take as old as time. Watch this. Early Hebrew? lol African Africans of old and new always believed in the Oneness of Gods, but like Angels, removing Moses, Abraham etc we had Gods/Goddesses and Ancestors in comparison. 2) The oldest Bible is Ethiopian. 3) the Founders of the “Arabic culture” was founded by African settlers, Sabaeans. I can go on but I’ll stop there. Pangea is no more. But right after this, remixing the ways of the old and making it your own is nothing new. Good artist copy, great artist STEAL. #Picasso! The man who plagiarized Congo. Ah I can so much😂😂😂😢😢😢😢😢😂😂😂😂😢😢😢😢

The Mali/Songhai empire have a very great history. It is also my favorite history, with Nubia/Kemet a close second as you probably already know. As a descendant of this fascinating history, I've created in a particular video game (I love video games. There my passion.) the culture and history of the Mali/Songhai empire, and copied there architecture with a few twists. I've done the same with the Nubia/Kemet architecture also. As a Sofa (warrior), I approve this message👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!!!!! FBA all the way, everyday🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇸🇳🇸🇳🇸🇳🇸🇳🇸🇳!!!!! Yera💧.

It shows proven undeniable truth that the King of Mali was the Richest man to ever live on earth still to the present day 2024 A.D. No one has ever matched passed his wealth and his character shows what he valued between the Wealth/worldly power or obedience to God n love of his people. This true history was purposely kept away from Western World Education but no matter the time the truth will always come to light

Excellent work. My interest in Mali and their manuscripts had already, made me visit the archive online. It was difficult to navigate, and not much material for review at that time. I hope we as a community can start a fund/trust to collect and build a modern museum/structure to house those treasures in timbuktu as mansa musa originally commissioned.

It was a complete Black Civilization. Arabs had nothing to do with the manuscripts. Thanks for sharing.

Some of the black civilizations were Arabs. Moors and berbers which were brown and black ..were using black civilizations that were not converted to Islam as slaves when they conquered Spain for 800 years. A lot of original black civilizations that were the founders of civilization in that area converted to Islam.. Which could be unfortunate in this case, because it took their identity, and what they created and achieved and mixed it together

Though it was founded as a Black Civilization by A Black King, Timbuktu accepted students from all over. So there were Arabs there. Whether that was a good idea, that's another conversation.

exaclty, totally separate Infact they have found thousands of new scroll and manuscripts that use arabic but are in different languages/ scripts so the arabs could not understand and get their wisdom. E.g.Think english - it uses the latin alphabet but you will not be able to understand french if you only read english even though it uses the same letters and form its totally different. Very interesting @philthai99

7% here, but if the other parts are 'nigeria, ghana, benin and togo', like mine... you have to realise that this WAS all mali. After it fell we were pushed south from songhai and into the northern parts of these areas (the countries didnt exist then obviously until berlin conference in 1880s). Later the slave traders came up and captured us and made us do the 'long walk south' to the slave coast etc. We were caught between arab invaders north and european invaders south and west, there is a place called tamale which might interest you to look into. So add up all the west african dna because it was all the same place and will be again soon.

Would like to know more of the history of how Arabic became the Lingua Francas of Mali for learning & trade..Was it about them being conjured by the Arabian people, or was it a strategy, becoming Muslim ,but still keeping a lots of the African spirituality & becomes Muslims mystics , which is called Sufism..How about doing a video on African Sufis ..

Hi, May I share the most important news you will ever hear? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
