The first commercial patent for a baby cage was filed in 1922 by Emma Read of Spokane, Washington. The cages became popular in London in the 1930s among apartment dwellers without access to backyards. It’s not entirely clear when exactly the baby cage’s popularity began to wane, but it likely had something to do with growing concerns for child safety in the second half of the 20th century

The Mongolian Wolf Box was used on women who killed family members, usually their husband. It was placed at crossroads. The hole was too small for her to get out but big enough wolves could get in. Usually they are about double that size. If you look in an old National Geographic from the 1920s-1930s you may find one, possibly from the Andrews expeditions. In a Geographic of the same age you can definitely find human heads in wooden cages hanging on telephone poles in Shanghai for exceeding the speed limit in cars.

I was born in 1959, my grandparents had a summer house in A.C.,New Jersey..Steel Pier, on board walk,saw the show many times,including high divers. Also had a diving bell, scary and exciting for a child.GODBLESS.
