What a FANTASTIC piece of history you have here, Glen & another 1st class restoration, too! Speed is correct & not "wobbly" and sounds about as good as 1 of these can sound! You are so lucky to have these machines! And the record was awesome, too! Who would have thought Dave Edmunds & Nick Lowe would sound so much like the Everly Bros? Great video! I watch it over & over! Thanks for posting, Glen & hope all is well with you. Regards, Ross

Wow Glenn!! Just Fantastic!! When I first saw the photo of the vid I thought this was just the radio...how wonderful to see it was a player for 45 and 33!! Really neat. Thank you so much for sharing!! I so adore these odd rare machines

RaymondTVinyl Thanx Raymond! It's really good to hear from you. This is definitely an oddity not often found today as they were quite expensive when introduced. Being made in limited quantities, having been dropped & broken because they're made of bakelite and the spindles/45 adapters lost over time...all have taken their toll making these extremely difficult to find in ANY condx let alone complete & unbroken as this. I see you're going to move? Curious to know why. Thought you were quite happy there. Visited with your friend Sal Yuro over the holiday weekend. I still check into your videos and comments in the forums. Don't be a stranger!

Hi Glen - Nice unit! Hey, I thought I'd tell you something that I picked up lately. I got a call from a worker that my wife works with. She knew I play with that old electronics, and were cleaning out the basement and was going to take it to the Goodwill, but thought maybe I'd want them first. So, she said it was her husbands old stereo with cassette and reel-reel. I said, I'll take it, but may just take it to the GoodWill for her. So, it turned up to be an Allied stereo with speakers, an unknown reel-reel, and a Sanyo cassette. The reel-reel looked like it had been dropped. The case was bent, and did not work at all. I passed on that. The Sanyo cassette wouldn't play, had a belt broken. Not worth the trouble to replace and it went to Goodwill as well. The Allied receiver was made in 1969, but was a tube unit. At first it didn't work, but after cleaning the controls everything ran fine. Came with some Allied speakers. That unit sounded very good! At first I thought I'd swap out my Pioneer receiver, but it would have to have those big speakers too, and I just don't have the space for them. So, I put the receiver and speakers on Craigslist for $60. I had two replies the first 2 hours of the post. One guy said he'd be there right now if you can. He came by and took it. Said he collects anything with tubes. I probably should have kept it for myself, but I have so many other things that I feel I need to keep too. I'm just out of space!! Oh well, since I know you like those tube units, I thought I'd tell ya about it. See ya -- Atco

seeburgsrock I undestand Glen! A couple months ago I filled the Rav4 to Goodwill twice. Would you believe, when I go into the basement I can't see any change! Yep, we've picked up too much stuff. I'm going to a hamfest in 2 weeks to try to sell some things and they will be offered lower then I would sell on Craigslist. I don't mind bringing things in when I go to a hamfest to buy, but I hate to bring things back when I was planning to sell. You and I aren't ready to give up on our treasures quite yet, but I am definitely trimming down to my favorites and slowly letting the others go. Unfortunately, I'm still looking for new items, but I am tough on my self of what I am picking up. See ya -- Atco

atco21117 I'm there too. I'm getting far more selective with my purchases. If I feel I can't sell it for more than I paid for it...I pass! Good luck at the hamfest. I hope you're successful at moving some stuff out and making a $$!

I have one of these Admirals, but it is the larger model for 78s and LPs...otherwise it has the same face and radio dial on it. It's one that I never bothered to restore (yet), but it is in very condition. Maybe someday...

Hi Glenn. I bought an RCA 45 Record amplified player / changer from you a couple of years ago and I am just wondering if you have anything for sale I can buy my son for his 35th birthday since he borrows mine when company comes over - he loves it !! It does not have to be another RCA Victor bakelite model just a 45 RPM amplified record player / changer. I can't remember if you have an EBay store or not? Thanks Glenn. Brian from Blairstown New Jersey, maybe you remember me? It was a brown bakelite RCA Victor with a lid converted to run on a battery pack by you - just great plays fantastic clear and loud without the need for electric power !!

Very nice. I don't think I've ever seen one with both spindles or in such good condition. How do you manage to find all of these rare units? You must have a lot of time to search for them. I was at a Michigan Antique Radio Extravaganza a few years back and I thought I had found one of these. It was in rough shape. When I opened the lid, there was an RCA RP-190 and it was original. I passed on it. As you said at some point you have to become more selective. You can't keep them all.

45Victrola Indeed, you CAN'T keep 'em all! It's surprising how quickly the home gets cluttered if you DON'T get to be more selective! While I spend a fair amount of time searching for the "oddball" stuff, often I find someone who's seen my videos, contacts me and we end up working a deal. It was such an occasion about a month ago that lead me to the elusive 33 adapter for this player! It feels so good to have an outstanding & complete rare player such as this one!

Hey, do you happen to know what kind of old audio machine from... hmmm... maybe around the '60s or '70s would play those old kiosks where you'd just press a button and maybe listen on a phone receiver? My church has some visitors' centers up in Salt Lake City that had those machines a long time ago and they totally remodeled those areas several years ago and those machines are long-gone, and I don't know if the Audiovisual Dep't these days even has a clue where the history of those is stored. I guess I should do more asking around. Or maybe the church history museum curator might know... but I just want to see if you know!

+Jeff Semancik I had a record dealer that once lived across the street from me and I bought about 50 7" 33's that were destined to go to jukeboxes made in the late 60's-70's. I have about 200 7" 33's and buy them anytime I see them (so long as they're reasonably priced...I'm NOT a record collector but rather a record player!)

Hi Seeburgsrock! I'm glad to find somebody who loves these players as much as I do. I own an Admiral 6S12 UL. As you may know it looks the same as yours but the disk its a little different. I have it in my leaving room and it is clean in detail but lately the sound started to deteriorate, it sounds blurry. I keep it plugged on the wall all the time, do you think this may affect the life of the tubes? perhaps I need to replace them? are these hard to find and change?. I would appreciate your advice! thank you! Henry

Have one of these, both spindles, bakelite nice, electronics original and still working fine. It had one hinge broken, but I found that the hinges on an RCA 95y10 fit very nicely with 4 hinge holes aligned perfectly. These hinges do not hold the lid up , but allow the lid to drop completely down against the back. They are also much more robust than the ones that were on there. Any idea about the value of this player?
