The Seed to Plate video series is a project that we did during the lockdown to not only keep ourselves busy and to have a good time but also to keep our minds occupied on something creative. It definitely achieved that goal for us but after filming we moved onto to other things and did not get back to finishing the edit, until now. I am excited to finally release it. I hope you enjoy the show as much as we did in making it.
Each episode follows one crop in the garden from seeding, to growing, to harvest, and then to plate. In the end, I cook a meal with that vegetable at the barn with my family. Along the way, we have a blast farming, gardening, and working on projects around the farm.
There are eight episodes and the first will be released here, this Sunday night, March 12th, at 7pm. New episodes will be released here for eight weeks, same day and time.
If you have the ability to watch on a large screen, we recommend it. It is all shot in 4k.
The great Mark Dissin, volunteered time to help us with production and really raised the bar for us on this project. Thanks Mark.
My buddy Gregory, @GregoryAlanIsakov was cool enough to license his music.

I've been wanting to market farm and grow an orchard/nursery since 2012 and recently it seems god is finally giving me and my family the chance to achieve this goal with land that has become available. You're farm is so clean and your methods really line up with what i've been collecting from JM as well. I have hiked high up on mountains in Colorado and the Yellowstone in awe of nature and deep in desire to grow something to give to others and once "The Stable Song" came on I was overcome with tears. Thank you for providing great products for small scale farmers and giving us a great example and knowledge to carry on these tactics elsewhere.

This is beautiful!!! I love the beautiful shots, I love your thoughts on life, family, farming, and food, and I love seeing you inviting your kids to enjoy and experience the land and the life in it with you. I'm bent on homesteading, market farming, or at least bountifully gardening since starting to experience it this year, and you and your farm are so convincing of the value of that kind of life. Thank you!!!

Outstanding film, it captures the rich rewarding work of growing your own food and trying to be self sufficient as much as possible. Great looking farm that came from hard work, this is something a lot of people wish they had, especially after the last 3 yrs of insanity. A place like this keeps you grounded and secure.

Your videos are great and really informative. Made me think about growing up we vegatble farmed 5 acres and later in life when i got married my wifes family vegetable farmed a large opsration of watermelon, cantelope, pumpkins, tomatoes, strawberries, potatoes, onion, peppers and i could go on. But im rethinking how i’ve done my own gardens now and the no till preping you space witnhout turning things over is the total opposite of how ive done it. Im going to give it a try this year along with you idea of a small open ended hoop house for tomatoes. Thanks again for sharing.

Connor… this is amazing. It so perfectly illustrates all the beauty of growing and creating your own paradise. This episode truly highlights your personality and philosophy. I am a born farmer and lover of gardening, cooking, baking, canning, curing, smoking cheese making, fermenting… all the things. I feel so much joy and accomplishment in sitting down to a meal that fills our souls made entirely of our own thoughtful intentions. I cherish every moment of raising, growing and feeding friends and family. These things feel different; deeply meaningful. From comforting a sow through her first farrow to cutting the last slice of prosciutto… or from seed and sunshine to the smiles and soulshine… I’m in it every step of the way. So excited for this series.

Conor, what a wonderfully conceived and produced video. Love the idea of following a crop's lifecycle and the context of how it comes together into a handmade meal with all the other elements gathered from the garden and farm. I can't wait to see the rest of the series. I do have one question. I've been wondering what you're growing under the covered section you can see at the 13:20 mark. Can you talk a little about what it is and why you're sheltering it? Thanks!
