Seeing the Sights One Last Time - Getting Every Achievement in FFXIV #32

The end has come, and it will be beautiful! For my final achievement hunting session of Endwalker, I decided to crack open the sightseeing log and have a nice, relaxing trip around Eorzea. Or so I thought... See you idiots in Dawntrail! Here's to another expansion and new achievements in Final Fantasy XIV!

Fun fact : There's a painter guy at The Hard Place (Adkiragh's place) that will sell you pics of every Sightseeing vista you have unlocked to use in Picture frames for housing. If you unlock all the Pics for an expansion, he also has 'bonus' oil pics too that aint in the sightseeing long. Also also. if you right click an item in his vender list you can bring up a sub menu that allows you to preview what the pic looks like before purchase :)

ARR sightseeing log has second, hidden part after first 20, with more elaborate riddles to solve. Those vistas only show at right time, weather and place, which makes them hard to find and time consuming. You can ofc follow the guide, but you still need time and/or weather right.

Listening to you talk about zones you're nostalgic about reminded me. There's a defense FATE in North Shroud, at Hyrstmill, where some opo-opos attack sacks of mun-tuy beans. That was the first place I died in my playthrough. I grabbed aggro on all the opo-opos and just wasn't paying attention to my health. As an ACN main, I *had* the tools to solo it, I just hadn't encountered anything that was actually threatening up to that point. Lalachievements score 16,540. I picked up Well-oiled: Amazing Manderville Harp Bow, just had causality to spend. And incidentally got The Customer Is Always Right: Zhloe Aliapoh III. Uneventful, but a little better than my nothing last week.

That's the one place I've NEVER seen her spawn. She spawns pretty much anywhere. lol

I started right before a moogle tomestone event occured, and once it showed up I immediately began grinding for the Magitek Predator mount. It was the first tomestone event where that was available, and I am a huge FFVI fan, so I was very happy to have an easy route to get that.

This has been a great series, though this episode especially was very nice. The last couple months I've had to put XIV down due to moving into a new place and figuring out what kind of budget I need to have and I've really been missing everything about it. As it turns out, Cider and I started playing the game right around the same time in Shadowbringers, so watching these videos gives me a perspective from someone who's experienced the game in the same state I have. Getting an episode where he just runs around the zones of the game that were particularly nostalgic for him actually brought me back to my first hours as well, especially considering I also started in Limsa and spent a ton of time doing ARR Tribals. Anyway, all this was to say, thanks Cider. This one was great.

Central Shroud is my most nostalgic zone. I started in 2.0 as a lancer, but after having difficulty staying alive right away, I wanted to try a healer. I had to buy potions just to survive the level 10 lancer quest, finished it out, switched to conjurer, and I've been a white mage main ever since.

My favorite Shadowbringers zone is Il Mheg. Exploring the underwater ruins of Voeburt + listening to "Fierce and Free" = the best questing experience in the expansion.

Another Fun fact, EW spoilers Ahead That tiny little Island at 22:22 is called 'The Last Remnant' Now Recall WHO it was that built Azys Lla - Amon, and what did he Remember - Elpis - (Azys Lla is basically a twisted version of Elpis) Also Elidibus told us that barely anything of Elpis Survives in the Present day and that we wouldn't recognise it... Now why would Amon have a tiny piece of Rock (call The Last Remnant) held up by a massive support machine, and also be the highest object (and generally the placed 'hight' of an object tends to imply it's importance) that can be seen from anywhere in the zone.... ;)

A good Idea would've been to give yourself a time-limit per map for exploring before looking it up. But on the other hand you specifically did this to have some chill time. So yea, no complains from me, good work! Some nice sightseeing, enjoying the content. Keep it up!

12:40 The reason they look jumbled up is that there were two sightseeing log drops in HW. So the 6 HW zones are in order, it's just the order is repeated an extra time for the 2nd drop.

Yumcax and Yggdreants in general were FFXI monsters introduced in the Seekers of Adoulin expansion. Yumcax itself was the Naakual of Earth located in the Yorcia Weald. Yggdreants in FFXI make the XIV version look like a toy for babies.

Had my sleep already haha got up early this morning had a 4 hour nap and ready to go. The sightseeing logs are pretty easy these days, the arr ones were painful as anything, but now you can fly and drop on the spot most of the time, its just a waiting game. The only 2 I haven't gotten are the Kugane tower ones, I haven't tried that hard to do it though

Shows you how much I pay attention to the game, but I never realised one of the Crystarium sightseeing log points was called "Rapture", which was the codename for the original city used in the 1.0 trailer. which eventually turned into Limsa, and whose styles were brought back for the Crystarium. Only reason I know this is from Speakers of Hydaelyn and Lukile's fantastic reaction to when he first saw the Crystarium in a trailer.

So about the whole "not knowing what emote to use" thing. If you look at your log, it'll actually give you a hint as to which you need to use. For example, at 23:16, one says "I looked out upon the realm in all her glory", while the next says "I allowed myself a moment's doze". If you have 4 left, and 3 of them say "look out", then the one you find where /lookout doesn't work should then in turn work with /doze, since it's the one that matches, as shown at 24:26. Just as a little heads-up to save a bit of time come DT's sightseeing.

Square Enix Added additional sightseeing logs in later during the patch cycle for each expac starting with HW. So the zones will be split in the log.

The confusion you're feeling for being sure you've found them somewhere but the game still having one there / not finding it in the log, HW and SB added a second round of sightseeing logs and those appear *after* the initial expac's logs, by number.

Unfortunately my laptop does not meet the minimum requirements, so my achievement hunting is on temporary hiatus for a few months until I can upgrade my laptop. I've only 100%ed ARR's log because there's a minion you get. I'm glad they added vista markers in Heavensward. I wish they'd add them to ARR's vistas.

Also most sightseeing spots after A Realm Reborn mostly required /lookout, but a few required /pray or something else. Also, I'm surprised you never saw that spot in Sohm Ahl as it's RIGHT IN YOUR FACE AS YOU COMPLETE THE QUEST TO UNLOCK SOHM AHL'S DUNGEON! XD See you in Dawntrail, Cider. ;)
