And I am letting myself feel this loss as much as I can bear to. Unique , her real self, An angel voice of an angel. These attributes are rare and often hidden in 2020 ies but in Judith what was hidden was revealed through her public performances (for me,) especially those performances with the Seekers.

With Judith gone, the Carnival is truly over. As superb as the men were, and still are, Judith, with her magnificent voice, was the key performer! With the Seekers clean and superb musical style, resonating with strong Christian values, they brought joy to millions of households for decades and put Australian music firmly on the world stage. Sadly, Judith's passing marks the end of a magnificent era.

One afternoon some 30 years ago when I was living with my late first wife Helena in Melbourne, Helena drove us to the studio of the top radio station 3AW for me to collect a prize I had won on one of the many quizzes the station featured then. As I was leaving the building, Judith also came from an interview she had just done and was heading out. I think I addressed her as Miss Durham, and said that my wife who is a tremendous fan of you - which was true - is outside in our car, and I wonder if you'll be kind enough to say hello to her. Judith replied, " Of course". When we reached the car, I opened the passenger door and said, " Judith I'd like you to meet a REAL STAR, my wife Helena". She graciously laughed and said, " I'm honoured to meet you Helena"! Helena was over the moon for hours! A wonderful singer and lady. So sad to learn of her death.
