I have a Seekins Element in 7 PRC. I’m 68 years old and grew up hunting, have hunted all my life. This has to be the finest ultralight rifle I have ever owned. I have numerous ultralight rifles including custom ones. My Seekins regularly will shoot first 2 rounds touching and a 3rd within 3/4”, as light weight barrells heat more rapid. Best part is cold barrel shots hit dead on to sight in. If you have experience with ultralight rifles you should know this is phenomenal. When you hunt wilderness areas as I do, you can’t beat the lite weight vs accuracy of this!

The Hornady ELD Match chrono data was incorrect because the chrono wasn’t set to a new string. It was giving you the Average/SD from the 3 Winchester shots AND the 3 Hornady shots.

Semi custom Tikka will be my next two rifles. One in 6CM and one in 6.8 Western.

Been eyeing this it’s release. Thanks for being the first video out actually shooting it. I messaged seekins about the weight of the 7mm PRC. They don’t list it on the website, they did not tell me the weight and said they haven’t even made one yet. So not sure when that release is coming. I’m assuming over 6lbs since the barrel length is longer. Would like the bigger cartridge as a more dedicated big game rifle. Elk etc. But i almost pulled the trigger on the 6.5 prc since I saw euro optic had some in stock. Thanks again. Would definitely like to see some more thorough ammo testing. It’s not easy keeping such a light rifle under control. Doesn’t help when shooting for consistency.

Hey, someone on the internet that knows how to easily measure a group. Good job!! Maybe some of these other guys will catch on.

You didn't reset the GARMIN ON THE ELD-M loads. You can clearly see it was a 6 shot string with the same high Of 3022fps. The Copper Impact from Win. is junk. Everything I try it in gives me 3+-6+ inch groups. Many different guns and Calibers. It does work well. But it shoots like crap. I'm having amazing results with 130CX. I'm reloading them. Getting .5moa at 3200fps with a 24" PROOF barrel.

I have a Weatherby Vanguard Outfitter in 6.5 PRC and the Hornady 147 match ammo shoots all over the place, 143's shoot 3/4 inch and the Berger 156's about the same.

With the shortened barrel your velocities match my 6.5 Creedmore. Great looking rifle.

I won't hunt with anyone that has a 1lb trigger on their hunting rifle. In my opinion ( years of hunting and shooting with many different people) a hunting rifle should be 2lbs plus. I have watched so many people blow their hunt by firing before they were steady.

That is why he said that he would change the weight when he was going to hunt with it

My opinion, it's a horrible shame they don't make left hand. I'd own a dozen of their rifles and I know a ton of people that would buy them also.

Let's not beat around the bush and sugar coat... that guns accuracy is dookie and action is clunky. For the price, a Savage 110 ultralight 6.5 PRC would at least hold MOA accuracy
@Stratagos11Ай бұрын
By dookie, do you mean shit Sir?
@jeffwilliams3436Ай бұрын
Yeah I 100% think it’s shooter error. You can’t mix copper and gilded metal bullets. To swap to copper you have to completely clean the barrel down to bare steel. My PH2 in 300 prc will shoot 1/2” groups with factory ammo
@CoryHarrison-js6phАй бұрын
I own both a Savage Ultralite and a Seekins Element and I find it funny that you describe the Seekins as clunky. My Element action is silky smooth and doesn’t bind at all, My Ultralite is probably the roughest action I’ve ever owned. The fluting makes it incredibly rough riding back and forth, the bolt is notchy as can be going into and out of battery, the bolt lift is crazy heavy, it binds like crazy and the stock is shit. It’s feed and eject well though which is an issue that plagues many Savages. I got it on clearance for half off and paid less than $800 for it after rebate so I’m into it the cost of the Proof barrel which is the only reason I bought it. If I had paid $1500 for this thing like they sell for at most places I’d be pissed. On the opposite end of the spectrum I feel like my Element is a good value for what I got. Everything about it out of the box is very nice. I would have spent the $$ for the SLAM if I could have afforded it but I couldn’t at the time so I’m happy with my Element but as someone who’s owned some nice lightweight CF folding chassis I can tell you that it’s absolutely worth it if you can afford it. With that said, if you want to live in a fantastic world where a Savage is just as good then you do you.

6.5 needsmore velocity , why have a prc then . Magnum calibers and short barrels dont mix , get a caliber that matches your barrel length .
@taylorcleblanc2 ай бұрын
The stock is so uncomfortable.
@BrandonKilby-r2z2 ай бұрын
So what you have is a overpriced rifle in a magnum cartridge that produces the same velocity as a 6.5cm. Cool seekins can keep it
@jeffwilliams3436Ай бұрын
Heavier projectile at the same speed hits harder. Thats the whole point of the PRC line to shoot heavier for caliber bullets at the same or faster speeds. My 300 prc shoots heavies faster than most 300 win mag loads shooting lighter bullets
@BrandonKilby-r2zАй бұрын
@jeffwilliams3436 he ist shooting them faster it's the same speed. Also I call bs on your 300prc. Hornadays own manual puts the two within 25fps with the same bullet weight and 300wm usually has a longer barrel making up that tiny difference.
