I've spent nearly 12k hours in tf2 as of today and despite it being in a horrible spot (recent exposure of the bot issue with not just cheater bots, balancing issues and just other things in general) i still will always love it. I traded to the funny burning flames tc hat and felt complete. It's always surprising to learn about other youtubers playing it that i love. Back in the Day hearing that Markiplier liked it, Fawful's Minion, Seer, and so many others now. Just feels...strange. Sometimes i forget how much of an internet classic Tf2 is.

That Snake Rattle & Roll segment made me have to go look up the ending. I remember getting to that godawful ice stage as a kid all the time but didn't really remember much after that, I'm sure I beat it several times as kid though. But holy fuck that boss, it's like someone asked "how much HP should the boss have?" and someone else answered that question with another question "what's the biggest number the NES can handle?" and they said "That'll do." Shout outs to Fire Emblem difficulties being kind of odd and the English version messing with them in weird and inconsistent ways. A great example is how FE9 launched in Japan with three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Maniac. This is kind of the template for many FE games, with Normal being the intended experience and usually not that difficult, Hard adding some extra spice for those who want some more challenge, and Maniac being an exercise in misery that no one but a hardcore superfan would ever even dream of playing, with the actual appeal to even that demographic varying wildly between the games. Anyway, Maniac was received so poorly in Japan that it was cut entirely from the English release (which probabily isn't a bad thing since the even the hardcore superfans who've played generally consider it to be one of the worst FE difficulties ever) and replaced with a simple Easy mode instead (enjoy some extra exp), along with various other changes (though a lot in FE9 and FE10 come across more as finishing the game than anything else, being things that would seem quite odd to not have always been there, along with plenty of bug fixes as well). Meanwhile, FE10 launches in Japan, also with Normal, Hard, and Maniac. However, the English version had Easy, Normal, and Hard again, but it turns out that they just renamed those other difficulty mode, creating a massive inconsistency with FE9 and also basically every other FE in existence, and that's on top of the fact that FE9 is one of the easier games in the franchise, while FE10 very much is not. As a result, if you just go into the "Normal" mode after FE9, you might not have the best time; a friend I have who is a huge FE fan absolutely hated it, in part because of that, though there's lots of other things about FE10 that he (and generally I) don't care for as well.
