Episode 98 Notes: The ILA of the Prophet SAW Prior to the Battle of Tabuk, when the Muslims underwent the various Ghazwa’s and the wealth begun being spread out amongst the Muslims. The wives of the Prophet SAW wanted a better quality of life. What the wives RA exactly wanted from the Prophet SAW, has not been recorded. But, it can be assumed that it was material wealth. All the wives RA, attempted to group pressurise the Prophet SAW and they were led by 2, Hafsa RA and Aisha RA. Umar RA is the one who narrated this. Prior to this incident, Umar RA had a companion from the Ansar with whom he would take turns with, when it comes to spending a day with the Prophet SAW. On one day Umar RA would work and his Ansar RA friend would spend time with the Prophet SAW and on the next day vice versa. One night Umar RA was informed by this Ansari RA that the Prophet SAW had divorced all of his wives RA. Umar RA went to the Hafsa RA the following day, who informed him that she is unsure if the Prophet SAW has divorced her and that he is currently in the special room within the Masjid. Thus Umar RA went to the room and there was a slave standing guard outside. Umar RA asked permission to enter but was refused. After the 3rd attempt, the Prophet SAW allowed Umar RA to enter. In the room was just some barley, water and the Prophet SAW lying down on a rough fibre mat. Umar RA begun crying upon seeing the living condition of the Prophet SAW and then asked him if he had divorced all of his wives. The Prophet SAW then said “No”. Umar RA then made small talk with the Prophet SAW, in order to lighten the mood and it worked. Umar RA then commented on his living condition and the Prophet SAW reminded him that, they have been given the Akhirah which is far greater. The Prophet SAW then informed Umar RA he took an oath with Allah SWT, that he would stay away from all of his wives RA for 30 days. This was due to all they group pressurising they had done to him, when asking for material wealth. The Prophet SAW after 1 month then went to Aisha RA and asked her if she wants to remain with the Prophet SAW or divorce him and receive anything she wants materially. The same offer was made to all of his wives RA. Aisha RA stated that she wants to stay with the Prophet SAW and so did all of the other wives. This proposal to remain with the Prophet SAW or to divorce him and receive wealth is mentioned within the Qur’an. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW only gave one Ila in his entire life. Fun Trivia fact: Fun Trivia fact: Ila is when a Muslim man makes an oath to Allah SWT that, he won’t have sex with his wife for no more than 4 months at max. If the man goes beyond 4 months then a divorce occurs. Fun Trivia fact: Non-Muslims are given rewards in this world for any good deed they do. ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

SubhanAllah, absolutely beautiful! ...In a time & era when it was the norm to discipline your wife by beating her our Prophet (saw) responded with such calmness and never lifted his finger upon any of his wives nor did he ever hit a woman!... and the greatness of the Mothers of the Believers (raa) is known through their humility in choosing Allah & His Messenger (saw) over the pleasures of this world. ...and here we are as an Ummah with the highest divorce rates and marital disputes ever over the most trivial and irrelevant things. We have a lot to improve to live up to the standards of our role models. May Allah bless us to benefit from the lives of these great people, Allahumma ameen.

omarahmededmia,, " our prophet responded with such calmness and never lifted his finger upon any of his wives nor did he ever hit a woman!" Really? Muslim (4:2127) - Muhammad struck his favorite wife, Aisha, in the chest one evening when she left the house without his permission. Aisha narrates, "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain." Muslim (9:3506) - Muhammad's father-in-laws (Abu Bakr and Umar) amused him by slapping his wives (Aisha and Hafsa) for annoying him. According to the Hadith, the prophet of Islam laughed upon hearing this.

LG Roberts The word "lahada" according to the lexicographers means, "to push" (dafa'a). The usage of the word "struck" is not a correct translation. Rather, the phrase should be translated as (as haddad said): - He pushed my chest with a push that made me sore This statement of Ayesha(may Allah be pleased with her) is consistent with her other statement: "Allaah's Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) never hit anything with his hand ever, except when fighting in the path of Allaah. Nor did he ever hit a servant or a woman." [Recorded by Ibn Maajah. Al-Albaanee graded it Saheeh.] This "striking" of hand is also- if you'd like to say so- has more benefits from the blessed hands of the Prophet: Jarir ibn Abdullah Al Bajalî was sent by the Prophet - Allah bless him - on a mission to destroy Dhu Al Kahalasa, the idol-house of Khatham, nicknamed the Yemenite Kaba. Jarr narrates: "I went along with a hundred and fifty horsemen but I could not sit steadily on horse. I mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah - Allah bless and greet him - who then struck his hand on my chest so hard that I could see the trace of his fingers on it, saying: 'O Allah! Grant him steadfastness and make him a guide of righteousness and a rightly-guided one!' (Bukhari and Muslim)

Ashhar Raza Ashhar Raza, don't you see what you just said? You admitted that your "non-violent" prophet pushed his 6 year child-wife so hard on her chest that he made her sore. So he was not only a pedophile, he was a child abuser! Yet, you are so brainwashed to worship muhammed like he's a god, that you honestly believe it was "beneficial" to be struck by the hand of this murdering, thieving, sex-crazed false prophet.

@LG robert:I would have answered you if you weren't so vile in your speech. For you I only have this to say : And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,- Surah Furquan - AL Quran.

Ashar, the Bible warns us repeatedly of false propherts. For instance, Deuteronomy 18:20 "But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name which I have NOT COMMANDED HIM TO SPEAK, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die." We all know muhammed was a false prophet- why else would he have spoken the words of the Satanic verses, as recorded by muslim biographers Wakidi, Ibn Ishaq, Tabari and Ibn Sa'd? Muhammed was so eager to impose his new, fake religion on the pagans in Mecca, that he agreed to keep the name of their pagan moon god "allah", and also to allow them to continue to worship moon god allah's daughters al Lat, al Uzza, and al Manat. Then, muhammed realized his mistake (polytheism) and CONVENIENTLY received a Revelation reversing and forgiving his sin of speaking Satan's words! Of course this practice of "abrogation " appears multiple times in the quran, doesnt it? Quran 2:106 -"Such of our revelations as we ABROGATED or CAUSE TO BE FORGOTTEN, we BRING IN PLACE ONE BETTER OR THE LIKE THEREOF. Knowest though not that Allah is able to do all things?" Why would allah, (if he he supposed to be the same as YAWEH, God of Israel) not know BEFOREHAND what the weaknesses or strengths are of muhammed, and have to "change his mind (abrogate) repeatedly to accommodate muhammed? Remember, moon god allah also abrogated the rules that Muslims could only have 4 wives. Muhammed wanted unique sexual privileges, so BINGO.....the moon god allah sent muhammed a Revelation (Q 33:50) to let muhammed have sex with as many little girls and women as he wanted!

People often try to place incidences like the problem with Prophet Muhammad's wives wanting more luxury at 5 A.H. and other incidents at before or during the time when the related passages of Al Qoor'aan were learned seems to be largely baseless speculation. Prophet Muhammad is an example to us that even those who do not live or accept Not every Nabiy Ullah being a Rasuwl Ullah or thinking that an Exemplar Prophet is lower than a Messenger Prophet seems to be baseless fiqh rather than something that came through Muhammad ibn `Abdullah. The important lesson that most gloss over is that after Yathrib became Medina, people asked about and were taught that neither feminism or chauvinism is good. It is interesting that even though it is narrated that Aishah was the best of the followers of Muhammad that she was also the first suspected by those outside the family of problems in Muhammad's family. `A'ishah and Hafsah did seem to be behind the most serious problems, but ti is not good to assume. May we always prefer God and The Prophet of The International Age over the life of this world. Eelah is an important term to remember as the oath of abstinence or deserting for four months or less. Prophet Muhammad, by this, had to teach people in yet another way that a month has its value as a month; whether it had 29 or thirty sunsets to sunsets. Physical discipline or even abuse is something I have witnessed to improve a woman's behavior, but it should never reach abuse. A prophet who had to deal with problems in the home is important as an example that can be followed by most. In India, their chief 24 or so Avatars were likely Exemplar Prophets that came with examples for every role at the time. The way it is set up, the telling of the problems publicly generally comes last, but it can be skipped. Usually, the secrets of the marriage are best kept secret and protects both parties in multiple ways. Woman having rights similar to men and a right to initiate and complete a divorce without a court puts them at a higher place under actually Islamic rule than any modern nation state.

The choice was between being a king and a nabi OR a slave of Allah but a rasool. A nabi is a prophet but a rasool is a prophet to whom a message/risala/new sharia is given. So a messengers job is to deliver the new message. All rasools are nabis but all nabis are not necessarily rasools. Allah knows best.

Well slave means different then things for different cultures. When you say slave in American context it means slave chained/locked up in cages only used for work or benefit. Slave in other parts of World at that time meant they live their own life they go about doing their own things live life as they want but they work for one person who owns them and he feeds them. In this case she had her own place and allowance no slave gets that in western land at that time. Slave word in Arabia is more like employee. People wanted to be slave rather than free at that time because there is no police or govt and one can get kidnapped and killed. Slave in Arabi has the protection of their master.
