Episode 7 Notes: Childhood of the Prophet SAW • The Prophet SAW was taken into the desert as per the Arab custom to be looked after by Halimah for 4 years. The opening of SAW heart happened during this period. Halimah accepted Islam. • The Prophet SAW’s had a foster sister called Shayma. • All the Prophets cannot commit major sins. • When SAW was 4, Jibreel came and opened the chest of SAW. He then took the heart out and removed a black portion from it. This black portion exists on all hearts and is essentially the influence Allah SWT allows Iblis to have on humans. • The Prophet SAW’s qareen is a Muslim who encourages him to do good. • After the Jibreel incident, Halimah returned Prophet SAW and Aminah took him with Ummi Ayman to Medina. Aminah looked after SAW for 2 years only. • Aminah passed away shortly after moving to Medina. Ummi Ayman had her buried in Al Abwa. Prophet SAW was 6 years old at the time. Prophet SAW visited his mother’s grave later in life. • After Aminah passed away, SAW was in the care of Abdul Muttalib. • When the Prophet SAW was 8 year old, Abdul Muttalib passed away. He was blind and lived past 80. • Abdul Muttalib entrusted SAW to Abu Talib before he passed away. Abu Talib was Abdullah brother. Fun Trivia fact: Every child that is born, Iblis pricks it and that’s why babies cry when they come out of the womb. This is from a hadith of SAW. Fun Trivia fact: According to another hadith of SAW, Iblis assigns a qareen to every child when it is born. The job of a qareen is just to whisper evil thoughts, to a person. Fun Trivia fact: We only are allowed to visit graves because of Aminah. SAW, asked Allah SWT permission to visit his mother’s grave, since in early Islam, you only entered a graveyard to bury a body. But after Allah SWT allowed him to visit his mother’s grave, he allowed the rest of us to do the same. Fun Trivia fact: The tribe of Jurhum (who ruled Makkah before the tribe of Khuza’ah) destroyed and hid the well of Zamzam, from the tribe of Khuza’ah, when they saw they were going to be conquered. This was later rediscovered by Abdul Muttalib. Fun Trivia fact: The price of 1 man’s life in the Shariah is 100 camels. So if you kill someone, that is the blood money, you would pay as per the Shariah. Fun Trivia fact: Dawud AS according to Allah SWT via a Sahih Hadith is supposed to have existed towards the end of times. Now Historically, we know, Dawud AS, was alive less than 3000-4000 years ago from us. So imagine how close we are to Judgment Day. Fun Trivia fact: A human beings lineage means nothing when it comes to attaining Jannah or Jahannam. ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

Jazak Allah for all the research and bringing us this plethora of information. May Allah reward you. In the end brother talks about depression. In my humble opinion if none of his prescribed methods work than certainly seek medical help. I do not think Br. Yasir meant to say if you are depressed than you are far away from God. There are some cases where just remembrance would suffice but if one has neurological challenges than as always we should always seek guidance from God first and than use worldly remedies so God can make it work for us and put blessings in it. God knows better.

If you are concerned about Orphans in other countries, I'd like to caution you about supporting orphans in orphanages. Many are run for profit, and recruit kids away from their aunts, uncles or grandparents. some even recruit kids away from their parents. you can see how a mother who cannot feed their child would agree to send their child away, but while the child's physical needs will be met, their need for family is ignored in the model. most orphans have family. It is best to support orphans by supporting their family caretakers, and there are organizations that facilitate this type of support.

This video discusses the early childhood of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He was born in a tough environment and faced many challenges, like losing his parents at a young age. Even though he faced difficult times, it helped him become a kind and wise person. The video discusses the custom of elite tribes in Mecca to send their children to be raised in the desert for various reasons, including health and stamina building. The video also recounts the story of Prophet Muhammad being raised by a foster family in the desert, highlighting the importance of being raised in a challenging environment to develop qualities such as compassion, maturity, and sensitivity. It highlights that very little information is available about his first 20-40 years of life, as most details are known after the age of 40. It explains the custom of sending children to be raised in the desert for health and character reasons. It mentions the Prophet’s upbringing with Halima, the foster mother, and the incident of his chest being opened by the angel Gabriel. The importance of orphans in Islam is emphasized, and the video delves into a story about the Prophet’s journey to Syria at a young age, which some scholars question its authenticity. Overall, the video emphasizes the Prophet’s upbringing, character development, and the significance of orphans in Islamic teachings. The key takeaways are: • Discussion on the concept of turning away from the remembrance of Allah and allowing Shaitaan. • Explanation of how Shaitaan can cause depression and the role of faith in combating mental struggles. • Suggestions on overcoming psychological problems caused or exacerbated by Shaitaan, including increasing worship (ibadah), seeking knowledge, reciting necessary adhkar (supplications), and maintaining good company. • Importance of seeking refuge in Allah (isti’aadha) when negative thoughts arise. • Encouragement to engage in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) as a means of protection against Shaitaan. • Reminder to surround oneself with righteous company to stay connected to Allah and overcome feelings of depression. Overall, the discussion focuses on the impact of Shaitaan on individuals who turn away from the remembrance of Allah, the role of faith in overcoming mental struggles, and practical steps to protect oneself from the negative influence of Shaitaan.
