I always interpret this song as a conversational exchange between two combative personalities of the same individual. A version that the person wants and wishes they could be. And another who is battling depression and self-hate that frequently triumphs. Just my own interpretation.
@ahhwe-any74344 жыл бұрын
Interesting. ... I like the way they use those mirrors in "protests."
@someonerandom85524 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I interpret it as a more political discussion. The “poor proles” are being lied to and angered by the media and kept in check with media designed to keep them scared and therefore unable to criticise the power structures. But your interpretation works well ‘too.
@MattJasa3 жыл бұрын
I see it as a internal battle of Want vs Need. It's like you want to keep erecting mirrors in the middle of the desert to bring home some light, but you need to realize the desert is full of rocks that keeps wanting to smash them.

Yes! My perspective of this song is from a narcissistic abuse survivor's. I finally realized all the abuse after seven years of constant abuse, gaslighting, stonewalling, being belittled and put down everyday, suffering from the trauma bond. His broken mind, nothing in his eyes, his words as weapons, keeping me guessing and terrified and paralyzed, trying to swim in his fable, and that he is not the saint he externalizes. It is GREAT for healing. I will pass it along to other narc abuse survivors.

Sometimes you love someone for who you thought they were, when they destroy that, nothing can bring that person back as who you thought they were. Even if you have them back again in your life, the person they were, is gone and the person you were is gone forever as well. I can relate to having everything take from your world in that sense, life is different afterwards and there is no going back to how it used to be.

I wish they were like this live. I was sooooo disappointed when I saw them. His hair was in his face, he didn't move from his spot once, and he didn't adress the crowd once. They literally sang right through all of their songs in 45 minutes. Sooo sad!

I love this song. There's too many terrified people who hurt others with words. I'm not terrified. I always want to say something beautiful. But I'm a quiet person. Socially broken. I had to stop being hurt with words. I can't the pain. I feel that pain I had before. All the pain returns. Safer to stay away from the terrified. Their pain I feel. I don't need to be hurt to see it. I'm not in my own world. Everyone has pain. Some think they hide it well but it wasn't dealt with. It was pushed away. Never gone. Just sitting.. waiting. Then it shows as anger. If I could take away everyone's pain I would. Your all beautiful. You are loved.

Like my dad with mental health issues. Always looking for a fight/argument but I know he really just masks his misery with it all.

All I ever wanted was to say something beautiful. But most people including my family never let me. I searched for a light behind their dead eyes but couldn't find one. They used the weapons of the terrified to hurt me. They kept living in their own lies. You can't hurt me anymore. You are nothing in my world.

It's such a departure from what I know Seether as. So much so that until like a week ago I had no idea it actually was seether. But I still love it. Sounds inspired by Mad world and I love it.
