I wasn't really aware of Camelot until Golden Sun, so I remember going back to Shining Force and realizing "wait a sec, they've always been masters of presentation!"

The noise from an original Genesis just makes these sound so sweet. The bass is so round and fat, the highs are properly attenuated, and everything just sounds rich and clear. This is that vibe I remember as a kid that the boomers in my life kept trying unsuccessfully to pry me away from, lest my brain rot or whatever they were on about.

Sweet new recording, man! I was absolutely enchanted by this game as a kid. It has such amazing presentation and character design and music and sound effects and tiny details. I couldn't help but fall in love. Exploring the various locales with Max and the Shining Force for the first time is one of my most treasured childhood memories. Thanks for sharing!

Motoaki Takenouchi did a great job with the sequel but I can't help but wonder what it might have sounded like by Yoshimura. This OST is definitely one of my favorites on the system: very melancholy and the little stings are great

I remember playing shining force on the Sega channel which was a games on demand service over phone line during some early internet days. It worked so well save for one issue - you got one save in totsl. I got so far in shining force then my brother played some painting game and it wrote over my save one day 😭

Thank you for the upload. I've noticed that some KZbin video had a timestamp in the video itself and I thought that was automatic generated by the timestamp write in the description but there's no timestamp in the video and it have one in the description so that mustn't be true, I wonder how to put timestamp directly into the search bar of the KZbin video.

When I first played Shining Force, I couldn't really get into it since at the time I didn't like tactical rpgs. However a few years after playing it for the first time, I loved it and ended up beating the game. The soundtrack is good, but I couldn't stand that sound effect that played every time a character talked. :S
