Seicane CarPlay/Google Android Auto Display Screen Unboxing, Overview, Install and Review

Not too long ago, Seicane reached out to me and asked if I’d like to review their screen. In all honesty, I’ve been looking for something like this for a while for my car, a 2009 Ford Fusion, and figured this would be a great opportunity!
Ultimately, I’ve had this display for about a month, and I used that time to gain familiarity with it, and to use it in extended use to see how it would work. So far, it’s been excellent! I love that the Bluetooth connection in my car connects to my phone, but having the CarPlay display is pretty convenient, seeing that there’s not a lot of places to set my phone if I’m using the navigation. Also, for the sake of convenience, and to add value to an already incredibly priced screen, this display also comes with not only a front facing dash cam, but also a reverse camera!! And, it comes on automatically when placed in reverse! That’s handy! The rear camera also can double as a rear dash camera, and both files save to a micro SD card.

The bigger port is not an Auxillary port. It is a connector for the GPS Antenna, which is optional and costs a few dollars if you want GPS in the actual device. Not needed as most GPS and maps stuff will come via the phone. The harness for power also has the Auxillary audio output, so you will lose that if you use a different power supply. Do note that port on the power cable is the auxilary out for connecting the device to a car stereo via cable, not an auxilary in. Great video, love the detail in your explanations.

You mean to say that if I hardwired it, I will lose the auxiliary functions?

Thanks for detailed review. Can you please show us on how it works for making and recieving calls using andriod auto while driving, how we can view live video and download the recorded videos on Mobile app, does this has ADAS feature in it, does this support video codec 265 format, what is the max card we can use, how about timelapse recording and does it has 24hr parking monitoring support, does we can get seperate suction bracket as well for this product and finally do you have any coupon code discount for this to purchase please let me know about this coz i am planning to buy this

I don't have an Android phone, so unfortunately, I could not. You can record live video on it and upload it to your phone or computer, if your phone supports microSD cards, which this uses. Does not do time-lapse and probably not 24hour parking support, as it would probably kill your car battery. You may be able to get a suction mount, but it's pretty heavy, so the mount it has is probably best. Hey great review, could you please tell me what the length and width of the screen is including the bezels, the website insist on showing the incorrect size of the screen.

I wanted to order it now and searched about this company has loooots of bad reviews i wanted to get it for my Hyundai sonata 2009 because can't find 4gb or 6gb or 8gb ram everywhere selling 1gb ram or 2gb ram which is slow.

I have purchased this 2 months ago,still have not received it. After numerous emails,they've sended me replys back,with always the same explanation "We're apoligize bla bla bla..... but not what happend to my order. Till this day i have no clue.

Hi, I bought the same model and unfortunately, the sound quality is horrible, even when plugged in with the aux connector. The other features are great but without proper sound, it's useless.

@@user-lx4yv6uz2o Yes, I ordered directly from their website. The delivery went smoothly and within a very reasonable time. This is the 2nd similar model I've tried. On my previous one, the Android auto resolution was low. Seicane's is good on this point. But the sound is very disappointing. I use the AUX jack to get the best quality, but the device sends an ordinary signal. The sound is comparable to that sent in FM mode. It's all fried and compressed. I'm far from being a music lover, but this is unacceptable. For navigation and the camera, however, it's great. So I dedicated an old phone for the Android Auto part and I use my phone running on Bluetooth directly on the car radio via the Spotify app. I would have much preferred to go through the device for the music. Let me know about your experience when you get it. Maybe my AUX connection is bad, but I doubt it.

Hi, @dunlopr77 I have been using this device for a couple of months now I have it set up on Android Auto with my Phone connected to my car with Bluetooth which you set up with the FM on the device so by passing the sound from the device hope this makes sense?

Agreed...cheap nasty rubbish...ive since tried other models of friends in my vehicle all of which easily outshine the seicane.

Utter garbage...please don't waste your money. It is useless. Bought a different brand and it works perfectly.

I have to say, I 100% disagree. Mine has been great since I’ve had it. Works exactly as it should.
