Seiko SKX 009 Mod GMT Pepsi Build (Step by Step / How To Guide 2020 )

(First off, noticed i say chapter ring instead of bezel insert a few time towards the end. This has been noted ;) ) So I have finally did a video documenting one of my customer builds. This time a Seiko SKX 009 GMT mod. The mod included:
-Sub bezel
-Pepsi GMT 24 bezel
-Double Domed Sapphire Crystal
-Silver chapter ring
-Signed Crown
Can say this mod came out well and hopefully the video will help some of you with yoru modding :) Many more like this to come.

Good informative video Kyle, undoubtedly you will get criticism for using that bezel insert on a diver, but that’s what your client wanted so it’s their choice at the end on the day.👍

It's freaking idiotic to have a 24 hr GMT bezel insert instead of a 12 hr dual time bezel insert on a non-GMT movement. I hope you made the customer aware that this was not going to function they way he might think. I'm not a fan of the Mercedes hands, either. On another note, chapter ring ≠ bezel insert.

The Gorn dlw hasnt had this in stock since I know them. Maybe they sell put very rapidly but whenever I check its sold out. At the beginning of this month I asked the owner if he will be able to get it in stock within one month, he assured that it would not take a whole month but havent seen it till now

Very nice mod & craft, I’m an amateur but have done a similar mod, one thing you didn’t mention or show was the crystal gasket, the crystal went straight in, this is where I’ve got stuck & caught the edge so crystal uneven, what do you do here?

We all start somewhere, the Heimdallrs do have a locating pin set up. Don't know however if the newer versions are able to take SKX mods. I know the older ones are as per one of my videos :)

The parts for this build was supplier by the buyer. However would say your looking around the £500 mark for something like this :)

Makes no sense using the GMT bezel or even the Mercedes style hands, your client should buy a watch from the lucky lucky man on his holidays.. I'd have talked him out of it if I was you.
