Although I like how they thought of a way to play around winning a boss fight you're meant to lose, I find it kinda scammy to just have a random throwable distract you for a second. I agree in saying there should at least be a bonus to beating him, or as someone else has mentioned it activates a hard mode, no tools keep your hand, instead of cutting your arm he knocks you out and scampers.

I actually like it better when Wolf loses. He doesn't have his shinobi arm yet, and he's actually weaker without it. Plus, he hasn't gotten to hone his skills. And later, he gets the chance to show that this isn't all a shinobi has to offer. It just makes more sense from a story perspective.

This one does play into something interesting the idea of being Shura, the loss of a limb empowering you. In a way Wolf is the best swordsman but winning shows it does not matter you have to break the rules, like a true Shinobi.

I think this was initially the only possibility of the first fight. When you lose to him that rando ninja guys just appears out of nowhere, which leads me to believe you actually had to beat him before they made it so if you lost you'd still pass the sequence. But probably in testing or even before they decided that was a bit scummy to force someone to win only to lose anyways. So they probably made it so losing also progresses the story.

I really don't think so. Unlike DS this game is a lot more explanatory. There are things in the fight that are not explained. I rather believed it's supposed to be a wall that is barely passable. I really don't think than anybody without prior knowledge of this fight is able to beat him. Took me a while to do so and today it miraculously worked instantly after starting a new game. Although the guy in this video did it a lot, lot faster.

Genichiro is unpredictable but fighting ishhin was like a dance so for me it was easier but took time to learn the latters his moves on his 2nd and 3rd round actually on the 3rd I usually zap him with his lightning moves and no sweat.
