@@jaronandnat locking hands while on top. If the guy on bottom has either hand or knee on the mat then the guy on top can’t touch or lock hands/arms around the opponent’s body. It’s fine if they stand up and you lock hands to return them to the mat, or if you lock hands to tighten a pinning combination (cradles/headlocks…etc), but you cannot even touch your other hand with your index finger while riding in the top position, or the ref will reset the wrestlers back at the center of the mat, issue the wrestler that locked hands a technical violation (same as stalling), and if you’ve already been cautioned for stalling it could even result in the other wrestler being awarded points or end the match (depending on the amount of stalling calls against you). In 2015, the 174lb NCAA finals match was decided because one of the wrestlers were clasping - so it’s not a violation refs tend to miss or let slide. The angle we get is way different from what they see of course, but it does surprise me that nobody seemed to notice it.
