Honestly, I find these tests more useful then the actual FMS. Especially for first time gym goers 40 and above.

Thanks Vinny! The SFMA is the clinical compliment to the FMS. If a client experiences pain during the FMScreen a referral to a physician trained in the SFMA would be appropriate. When fitness professionals and clinicians speak the same language we see improved patient/client outcomes.

Internal shoulder rotation is my weak link. What's the fix?
@ChiropractorEdmond8 жыл бұрын
do you have any of the following: protracted shoulder, winging of the scapula, weak pectoralis major clavicular division or weak anterior deltoid on the involved side?

Can you make a video about the breakdowns?

that's a great idea. Checkout FMS 360 Pro from www.functionalmovement.com It's a great resource.

She is super flexible! Would be better to show a person with "normal" flexibility so that people don't get so frustrated when they do the comparison.

Thanks for the comment David. Functional Movement uses the following language for grading movement: FN - functional non-painful; DN - dysfunctional non-painful and FP & DP for functional & dysfunctional painful. Please note that we do not grade or score your movement against our model. Instead we use established values and symmetry along with the above mentioned nomenclature to rank and grade your movement competency. I hope that helps.
