I am finding out about this condition on KZbin after many years of dealing with a couple of knee dislocations. No doctor I have been to has ever shared that I could possibly have this issue nor examined my feet, that has some pain especially in the big toe. It's so sad. I am going to do what he shared with her on my foot and see what happens.

Hello Dr. Prince. I’m having similar swelling and instability as shown in the video. However, even using the websites you linked, I’ve struggled to find competent Gonstead chiropractors in my home state of North Carolina. Would you mind personally recommending some doctors in NC (preferably) or anywhere on the east coast between Georgia and Delaware? Thank you so much.

I heard a pop in my knee when i stroke a football in the net. There wasnt any pain but the sound was loud. Then when i came back home, i saw that my patella has loosened and it now moves a bit freely in all directions. Again with 0 pain. I also had patellar tendonitis so i need to ensure that everything is right. What is your take on this?😊
@G-O-A-T-dc4 ай бұрын
Hi, I’m a chiropractic student. What I believe to happen is that the “pop” sound could be a possible tear of ACL/PCL/MCL/LCL which are ligaments of the knee or it could be the meniscus of knee joint that is torn. By performing orthopaedic test on the knee joint, we can find out what is causing the problem. U can search on the test that is specific to the structure that is causing it. For example, ACL you can perform anterior drawer test, lachman test, pivot shift test. For MCL, valgus stress test. Also, get an imaging evaluation like x-ray (bones alignment), ultrasound (ligaments, meniscus, cartilage, muscles) or MRI done to visualise your problem. Seek help from a professional physiotherapist, chiropractor or orthopaedic surgeon to determine whether a surgery is required or not depending on your severity. Hopefully you find my advice useful :)

@ChiropractorEdmond Жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm sorry that you're hurting. I didn't understand your ratio question but generally speaking, strengthening the hamstrings to improve the quadricep/hamstring strength ratio can be helpful for some knee pain sufferers. I recommend caution when attempting self-care strategies from KZbin videos. These are educational videos and are not intended to diagnose or self-treat. You must find a doctor who can evaluate you and develop an individualized treatment plan. You may find a doctor near you at this address: www.gonstead.com/location/

Sir i have one feet more rotated internally as compared to other and in that same feet i have more flat feet. I had been wearing insoles? Can these cause structural deformity? Also i have nerve swelling in lateral ankle just near medial malleolus? Why is that Thanks!!
@ChiropractorEdmond Жыл бұрын
Hi, I’m sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, it’s challenging to answer your questions without evaluating you personally. You need a thorough exam by a competent physician. Insoles are not orthotics. Orthotics are either accommodative or functional. iMO orthotics should be considered after your foot and spine has been adjusted to improve mobility. If you require stability and the unique angles of your feet have been mapped then and only then should custom functional foot orthotics be considered. In recap orthotics are either accommodative meaning they accommodate your current pathology or they are custom and functional. So no they don’t cause structural deformity. On the other hand improper footwear over time can deform a foot especially in the young. E.g bunions from a tight restrictive toe box. Moreover, a straight shaped foot in a curved last shoe can result in these same changes. Regarding the swelling: it’s unclear and unknown and requires a medical/chiropractic evaluation. I wish I could be more helpful. Good luck!

Hi, prp is great but it’s impossible for me to know if you should. Physical therapy is great too. Too many unknowns including: do you still have foot and ankle joint dysfunction which requires an adjustment? A skilled chiropractor should be able to assess each and every foot/ankle joint articulation and provide adjustments if needed. Personally, I’ve found that a specific adjustment is the missing piece in achieving recovery. I’d recommend a Gonstead Chiropractor and or CCEP, CCSP or other post graduate extremity trained chiropractor for a thorough analysis. Godspeed!

@@ChiropractorEdmond Thank you can’t find anyone to listen been 21 years at least 100 drs and many MRI’s and X-rays later. The medical neglect I’ve suffered is out of this world. They spend 2 mins with me walk out don’t come back nurse does then sends me on my way. Most drs are looking for imagining to tell them all they need to know they never physically examine me. After watching many videos the past couple days I was able to adjust my talus myself a huge pop from it. Omg the relief all the toe, bottom of foot tendon, inner foot tendon, ankle and knee pain gone. It also gave me some relief in my hip/si and some tension relief in the hamstring. I believe if they cut the hamstring I will be better the severeeee tightness and pain in hamstring goes all the way down back of leg into foot and toes. But as I said so much relief was achieved by the adjustment to the talus was an amazing adjustment I was able to do to myself. I’m really good at adjusting myself in many ways problem is it never sticks even if a chiro does it. The inner pronation was immediately no longer falling in I could feel my inner ankle and arch were sitting upright and my knee shifted left to right place. I never knew what feet and ankles being out of alignment could do to the hips, butt, low back ect until I started studying a lot. It was just recently when I looked up toe and inner foot pain the talus came up. Do you know why adjusting the talus would position the arch and knee right which also brought some relief to hip. I believe I have SIJD or snapping hip syndrome that is throwing me all out but no surgeon has listened because MRIs don’t show anything. But a recent MRI showed bursitis hip is double normal size for 21 years. But I also have a lump on groin seeing a hernia specialist soon and new hip surgeon. I’ve wondered if it could also be a indirect hernia or hip hernia idk. I think I have more then one thing going on which makes it all a nightmare. Btw how I adjusted my talus was pressing the back of my ankle firmly and hard into my bed. While placing other foot on top of foot for more pressure downwards and pop. It felt like when a gun is pulled back and then moved forward into firing position Lol amazing relief. Anyway thanks so much for reply hoping soon I get a diagnosis finally.

If you’re measuring the length of the foot for the purpose of a shoe fit then you’re correct. a brannock device in the weight bearing position would be appropriate. however, for the purpose of Forefoot angulation measurements a FFMD is used as demonstrated in the video.
