What makes me tear up while listening to the chorus, it's knowing the fact that she's unable to dream and hold her love one(s) anymore. That's most likely what her fam and husband thought of when finally hearing the song for themselves after she passed, since she died during that albums development😩 And you can just hear the passion in this song, she died too early without witnessing how the impact of her unfinished album affected the world and music industry.

@lupez75764 жыл бұрын
Yes that's what that scene is about but to get deeper into his "was that symbolic for something?" question...remember the scene in La Bamba where Buddy Holly tells Ritchie Valens "stars don't fall from the sky" and then the plane crashed from the storm? Well, Selena not being able to catch the white rose, which were her favorite, was her "star" falling. It was a bad omen she kept having. 😔

NOTE: The "extras" were actually Selena's fans who were at the Astrodome and those who auditioned to be Selena. That's why they look so familiar from the real footage of her concert. This was truly a passion project of love and that's why it still resonates so much with us today. Also, in Mexican culture, the white rose means a funeral or omen. That's why it meant so much in that moment. It was a great cinematic use of culture to let the audience know to brace ourselves.

The reason why it’s hard for Selena to stand up to her dad or remove him from her life is because in our culture , family means a lot. There is an honor to our parents that even if we disagree and go behind their backs, we still value their input. Because family is everything when your close. Selena ultimately would have died of a broken heart if she never saw her dad again. They had a bond even through the tough times. ❤

2 big things to remember about Selena & Chris’s relationship: 1. They were only 20 & 21 years old, and they had only been “dating” for a few months before they got married. 2. Selena was known for being too trusting. Chris wasn’t the first guy she dated. Musicians and roadies were in & out of the band all the time. People had hustled them before. When Selena (then 17) was going into contract with a popular club in Dallas, in which my grandmother helped run, my mother (14 at the time) had asked Selena if she could do a performance at her upcoming 15th birthday, Selena excitedly agreed to it, but soon after some couple weeks, her father realized Selena and my mom's older cousin (who was working at the club) had been flirting and getting close and her father soon after cut all ties with the club and canceled the contract. Waited 8 weeks after Selena’s death, took advantage of the deep depression Chris was in to ask him to sign over the rights to Selena’s estate. Sue him whenever he’s tried to tell his side of the story. Basically has tried to erase him from Selena’s history. Had the audacity to say he’s done nothing with his music career in an interview. Well excuse me Abraham, but unlike Chris I don’t see either you or your deadbeat son with a Grammy.

The scene when Selena singing in the background as her family gets the news she's gone always gets me to this day. It's so sad and Heartbreaking. Dreaming of you is one of my fave Selena songs. Such a beautiful singer and human being. So sad she died. She will never be forgotten. I still play her music and watch her videos. She's just unforgettable.

Fun fact: you know that scene was genuine? They only filmed it one time. So the time you seen it in the movie it was a 1 shot deal, only time they filmed it and never did a redo of the scene. :)

It’s so hard to see the ending SELENA was going to the Dr. the day she was murder because she was planning to start a family. SELENA told Chris that she wanted to have 5 children. Hands down the best Selena reaction on KZbin to my FAVORITE singer of all time. Been a huge fan since the early 90s before the film and did have the chance to meet her and see her perform as a kid while visiting family in Texas. Such a beautiful woman and spirit. The reality of what happened to her is hard to come to terms with. It’s sickeningly unfair. She was really an incredible talent but most of all a genuine person and sweet heart. Love u Sel ❤️Loved the reaction bro! Subscribing Now!!!

The songs in the movie was Selena's real voice except for the beginning of "Como La Flor" that was Jennifer's voice. That's in the Monterey concert in Mexico. I am so glad you did this. My kids are half black and Mexican and I make sure they know their Mexican heritage as well as their black. I have taught them everything my parents have taught me down to the music. Now my grandchildren are learning. Thank you for the video!

Every time I see this movie it reminds of how amazing and important Selena had become to the latino community. I had the opportunity to see her perform a year before she passed. I remember her being interviewed by spanish radio shows when she was filming her music videos or touring. My friends and I would sing her songs in class. The day she passed we were all devastated by the news. And I had the same reaction as you regarding yolanda that day. I believe everyone did. No one cares about yolanda.

Im glad Selena crossed over to mainstream regardless her personality and down to earth carisma left and keeps touching generations plus generations, she is and will always be one of a kind . It’s is sad she’s gone and I cried with you at the end of the movie because it’s insensible and unexplainable how someone could take her life in a blink of an eye . I listen to her music day in day out , there is not one day that goes by that I don’t see a video of hers , she inspires my life to keep pushing through.
