So well said. I actually used to think that a bubble bath would somehow make me feel better at the end of a hard week…maybe it is something we see in movies. A few years ago I realized that taking care of myself is so much more. I have a meditation practice that is really important to me and getting out in nature with my dog every day does wonders for my mental health.

I’ve been spending the last 3 weeks watching all your videos.. yes all lol Slowly every day I’ve been watching a few and they’ve changed my whole perspective I’ve come to realise how much I’ve been following with social/ societal expectations and trends all the time and letting that influence me and my attitude without even realising sometimes. That got me in a toxic battle with myself and made me loose track of who I even was and what I found joy out of. Safe to say in 2022 I will officially begin my journey for slow living or at least seeing if it’s a life style for me. I’ve been doing research and as someone that’s already a minimalist I feel this is really something I can focus on. Thank you for your videos!🤍

I've recently started drinking moon milk (plant based for me) about an hour before I go to bed. I have really intense insomnia and the usual sleep aides give me horrible headaches. What does self-care means to me it's so beautifully said in the following quote: “Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone, we can be with others without using them as a means of escape.” ― Bell Hooks I now live complete alone, I never see anyone in person, and I work from home. I am learning how to survive having only myself as my life companion, sometimes it's hard but it helps me evolve! I am starting to see things differently, and value others and myself more! Great exercise! Much love my dear Sophie! As always you shine just like that moon I just saw on your video! xx

The social self-care aspect is what I need to work on more now. I now work from home permanently, and I've been noticing myself feeling a little isolated more recently. I find myself craving that connection with others. I do participate in several fun activities outside work, but haven't really hung out with people one-on-one. With Omicron on the rise, I'm a bit hesitant to hang out with folks in person, but I've noticed that I'm enjoying phone calls a bit more, which I really need to do more to help nurture those one-on-one connections. It really is magical to be outside in nature, in any aspect, even just going for a neighborhood walk, and noticing all the little things, like how the fresh air smells, the way the clouds move through the sky, the specific color shade of the sky, each little flower that may be seen. Just observing this and paying full attention to it can be a powerful reminder of the joy we're given to be able to experience this world. I also love just taking every Saturday (Shabbat) as a day to literally rest - no chores, no work, no handling money...it's a wonderful way to force a break from materialistic endeavors and engage in self-care. Glad you've been able to work with a therapist on any issues - I've worked with a wonderful one when dealing with depression at times, and sometimes it's just so helpful, talking things through. Thanks for a wonderful video - I enjoyed it!

I like that you filmed hints of self care and note that it is not a one size fits all thing. I recently discovered that some of what I thought of as self care was not necessarily that. For example, I thought of manicures as self care. And also calling people. When I get my nails done, I feel the need to conversate and often get cut as my nails are so short. When I call people (in part b I am too am an empath), I can often get louder in my head rather than calm or centered. So I figure that the true self care is the meditation practice that led me to this as opposed to the spa and gabbing on the phone.

Will you do a video about slow living when you have an extremely busy/demanding career?

I socialize a lot at work too. So during the weekend I choose to be alone to recharge myself. I'm a introvert, so I need a lot of alone time! I love how smooth your voice is. Your video is so inspiring, as always ❤️

Thank you so much ♥️ Could you please make a video for the people who are in a lockdown? I’m not able to join classes, do sports or anything anymore (living in Germany) now already for more than a half year.. would appreciate your tips so much. ♥️🙏🏼

Thank you always for your time and knowledge. I find that when I start getting overstimulated, the sounds of a co-worker eating a snack or another that must listen to music each day when I prefer silence, can cause me to become cranky and sullen. Your videos have made me be more self-aware and know when I just need to walk away and take a break.
