Thank for your Information. I am about to pick up my brand new Bali 4.2 in February 2024 from the factory in Tunisia and will enjoy sailing around the mediterranean sea.

Great commentary ‼️ I agree with the flybridge. And worn many manufacturers offering the "lounge" option,this may be the best compromise. Thanks guys.✨ ⛵️ ⚓️ 🌊 🏝 👙 🌞 🍷 ✨

Thank you very much for your always very interesting videos. Did you buy your Bali with a lot of options provided by the yard or did you buy them separately? I am thinking of the generator, solar panels, air conditioning, desalinator, etc. ... It would be interesting to know what configuration you bought and what options you took elsewhere. Thank you and good luck.

Yann we bought it with all factory installed equipment. There are two reasons for that: It is installed per factory spec and we felt like all installation warranty issues revert back to the factory and it is easier to deal with one party. We also took possession of the boat in France and we wanted the boat to be ready for us to do the delivery immediately with all options. Even though not impossible, t is really hard to do after market work in a foreign country where you dont speak the language well. So it could cost you time and more money in the end. If we didn't sail the boat from France ourselves, we could have done some work in Fort Lauderdale and it may have been cheaper to install some items. Many of our clients will have air-conditioning, solar and Lithium batteries installed here. So yes, it is definitely an option.

Great video. We have a Bali 4.1 and love it. Agree with your Top 5; especially going with the larger engine option. I also usually motor with one engine most of the time. I’d add one more- a good code zero sail (or similar). Ours only came with the mainsail and jib.

Steve Warner you are so right! We use our Code Zero every opportunity we get!

That was a great walk through of the 5 + 3 points Do you think it is easier to sail a Cat if you are a beginner Getting older now and cannot contemplate a monohull so a Cat seems a better option like the Leopard 46 maybe?
@Catamaranguru4 жыл бұрын
Russtafa B it sure can be. For one, the boat is more stable. You don’t have to hang on for dear life! Also the cats are set up for single handed sailing so if you have basic skills, you can sail a cat. However I would recommend you hone your skills before going offshore by yourself😜

How well does the Bali 5.4 or 4.8 sail upwind without daggerboards?
@Starmania_FR4 жыл бұрын
The Bali 5.4 is a great boat and the Fly must be so pleasant at anchor, but for long crossings with my wife I would be worried about going to bed while she is watching alone on the Fly, especially if the weather is good bad. For this reason I would prefer a Leopard, even if I prefer the Bali.

Jacques Lambert we were so ambivalent about the fly but we got used to it now and love it. Our fly bridge is actually big enough to be able to sleep there but the smaller cats may not have that option. Our Lagoon450 Sportop was just brilliant for a live aboard couple.

Thank you for your answer. I'm sure the Fly is fantastic, but sleeping there for a long period of several weeks must be difficult, it's better to have a crew of 4 people. You agree that the Bali 5.4 is a fabulous catamaran.

@@Starmania_FR you are correct! A few nights on the couch are Okay when we do shorter passages but an Atlantic crossing would definitely be more enjoyable with several people onboard to do shifts, which had when we did our latest crossing in November 2019. It was a blast and the boat performed above expectation. We loved our Lagoon 450 Sportop and we were not sure how the Bali would compare but we can say with 100% certainty that we made the right choice for us.
