Helpful video, thanks! I've been rolling various body parts for years and it is so relaxing, like getting a massage. I've been careful with my thoracic spine due to an extruded disc, so I don't roll that area.... But I discovered that rolling my legs - all around the thighs - back, sides, front - has helped relax my mid-back area, and helps with hip pain. OPTP makes a soft half size roller that's more convenient in small spaces. So thankful for these helpful tools, and for your videos showing how to use them.

Excellent demonstration. When watching, however, it seems like you have to be in pretty good shape just to hold yourself in that position. I'd like to see more demonstrations for more frail seniors and people out of shape. Thanks!

I just used my softer roller as you demonstrated, and after doing it I can feel my entire spine relaxing as I sit. Feels great. I also appreciate your introducing us to new products like the Helix roller. It's good to know how often and how long to do such movements, too. A question, though: are these types of rollers also helpful for the back of the neck? I still have a stiffer neck after an old injury many years ago. I do daily neck mobility movements I learned from a physical therapist to keep my neck as limber as possible. Can you comment on this? Thanks so much for these videos. I learn so much from them/you. Namaste

You're very welcome, Deborah! Foam rolling is not the best tool for working on the neck. The small anatomy of the neck (vertebrae, discs, connective tissue) is not really designed to support a significant portion of your body weight. However, there's lots of good information in Neck Playlist - kzbin.info/aero/PL1rO7vW04HUCvA6iO0eR-DHGdi7m5v9Ez

I have the firm roller. It works pretty good. Been rolling with it for years. But I have a hip problem and have been trying to eaze the tightness using it. Not so easy.

You make a very good point, Wendy. The size and shape of a traditional foam roller prevents it from getting to certain spots on the body.
