As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement kzbin.infoUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!

Sometimes "assemble yourself" furniture like your island can get rickety over time. A way to strengthen it is to use an adhesive caulk in a caulking gun to bond the joinery together without need to reassemble it. I highly recommend DAP Kwik Seal Tub and Tile (clear). It's a water based adhesive caulk so water cleanup is easy. Cut the tip of the caulking tube so the hole is about 1/8", no bigger. Then run a bead where all the pieces join together at 90 degrees on the inside, one at a time. Wet your finger tip and run it along the bead to smooth it. The trick is to run the bead about 1/8" to 3/16" (narrower than a bead of toothpaste) so as not to apply too much which is wasteful and messy. Keep a rag or sponge and bucket of water handy to wipe any excess. It will dry clear in 24 hours at room temp and your furniture will last much longer and be much sturdier. To close and seal the caulking tube, wrap the tip with a scrap of plastic wrap to keep it airtight and secure with a medium to large wire nut which I'm sure you Dad would have.

My daughter watched me rebuild my home in Long Island and a 54' Jag roadster, during the 70"s and 80's. She picked up skills by watching and helping me along the way. Now she does her own repairs and small building projects. It's great to see how independent they've become. So I'm sort of reliving those years with you and your daughter. Thanks much for the memories. 🐺

That dinner looks delish. You go, skilled craftsperson, Emily! My husband taught me to use various tools, starting in my late 20's, during our own earliest home builds/repairs. Soon after, I discovered that my fave woodshop hobbies are constructing children's furniture and dollhouse miniatures. Right after completing her 2 college degrees at 22yo, our daughter learned power tool skills to do major renovations with her new husband in their first home. I'm happy for you, and hope you enjoy all those comforts and the equity-building benefits provided by your handiworks.👩🔧🎓🏆
