I definitely appreciate the quality of this product. Since you have a rather short stroke length through the opening in the tube you tend to throw less sparks overall than using the full length of a six-inch long rod, but certainly this product concentrates the sparks into a tight area. Jamie, permit me to offer a few tips for filming future demo videos. The closer you can get your audience to seeing the ignition of the mini inferno and the natural tinder, the better you'll be able to demonstrate, and therefore sell this product. Try editing in a close-up shot of the tinder,and perhaps a point-of-view (POV) shot looking over your shoulder or a side view. Try it and see if you don't a considerably better job of selling the product that way.

DO NOT FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE ! I grew up using my father's hunting rifle ammo, as an experimental object. Hmmm, what if I ... pull out the round, spill out a little grain, light, and ...? H-ly ---! There was a blue-white flame shooting out (and jet vortex whistling 60 decibels) from the ammo lip 6 inches long, for 3-4 seconds. Then it ignites the percussion cap (blowing it backwards out of the fire), making a rifle shot-sound. I defintely had tinder fire after that! I definitely received all the Oregon rural neighbor housewives' attention thinking a real shot went off. Oh, its that xxxx son screwing around again, grrrr! Only in a true emergency and survival hunting situation ... and no numb nuts playtime adventure, OK?! Then there is the very real tale of "living through" chemistry class as Teacher's Assistant, and drying out humid gunpowder in a test tube over a bunsen burner .... Use a Lightning Strike fire starter, and BE SAFE!

The Pathfinder is actually the mini version of the Lightning Strike Fire Starter. There's also a larger full size version available from places like Amazon. I'm not sure if there is any advantage to it though. It's a great fire starter that works really well. The only downside it the price. It's $60. ($67 on Amazon, so get it at SRO if you want one!)

Think about the price AGAIN when you need the convenience and power of this tool to save your skin !!!! IS YOUR LIFE WORTH $60 ?? Life is NOT about the price... NEVER !!!!!

just use mini bic lighter ffs. these items like fire strikers should only be used in a survival kits, and i mean real survival kits like aircraft kits n stuff like that, not in a bug out or hiking bag.
