As always, thank you, Dale! I use your deep dives while I'm publishing my books as a follow along even though I have published with KDP before, it makes me feel better to have your info with me. Appreciate you! 🙏

This is EXACTLY the video I was looking for. Thank you Dale! Question-- will KDP label my book "AI made" if I select the AI support option? Why are they asking for this?? Do you have a deep dive for publishing on Ingram?? Thanks!
@DaleLRoberts20 күн бұрын
At this time, they're not labeling anything publicly. They're asking to collect data. I don't have a deep dive for IngramSpark in any of my public facing videos. BUT, I've had numerous over-the-shoulder videos for channel members showing them all about IngramSpark for print distribution. I anticipate I'll be doing a dedicated video for IngramSpark going into 2025 sometime.

Hi Dale, thanks for the video! a couple questions - if the public domaine book includes more than 10 unique illustrations, glossary of words, author biography, when I publish, shall I pick the option I own the copyright? and I was also wondering how to generate a universal link for the paperback? Thanks!
@DaleLRobertsАй бұрын
If it's public domain, you'll need to mark it as public domain. I'd recommend contacting support if you need more clarity there. To generate universal book links, you can use Books2Read or BookLinker. Either service works for Amazon whereas Books2Read work for all platforms and formats.

Is there other publishing platforms that are quite quick like Amazon please?
@DaleLRobertsАй бұрын
Well, none that are quite as fast as Amazon in printing, but you do have options to consider. Here's a full video series where I compared KDP with the other print on demand companies: kzbin.info/aero/PLXCkkWHluK4Bxge93wn7VBdQ9YVk0uvup. You'll have a definite answer in that series based on what you want to publish and where you wan to publish it.

@DaleLRoberts I'll take a look when time allows, which one would you say covers the most of the population aside from Amazon, because SHOCKINGLY, when the title was put in to the search it never produced the book , and that was under all categories, which is pretty disgusting really, after all, if people look to buy the title and it isn't given they can't buy it , can they , ...I don't know if you and your other viewers know this , or even authors , publishers etc , we are truly horrified, that they publish it but then don't offer it under their. Very own search facilities...

What's better to start with? Paperback or ebook?

Ebook, all the way.

Hey Dale, I uploaded my manuscript for the paperback book and I face some errors. I fix them, everything looks good, and I submit the book to be reviewed. Then I receive an email from KDP telling me that there are issues in my manuscript sizing. My book applies for Bleed as it has many pictures going to the edges of the pages. The size of my book is 8.5 by 11 inches, and I added 0.125 in. in width and 0.250 in. in height to adjust it for bleed. I upload it as a PDF, it gets sent to be reviewed, and then I receive the same email again. I tried the Kindle Create tool too, however, I can't choose Bleed anymore because Bleed only accepts PDFs. It didn't work anyway. I do not know what to do and I would appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

I can only guess without even seeing what you're working with. Get KDP Support on the phone so you can have them clarify their issues. Chances are likely, you have a text element spilling into the bleed or outside the margins. That's typically why they reject manuscripts. Scroll to the bottom of your KDP dashboard and hit the "Contact Us" link. Walk through it till you get to Phone Support. Don't use Email Support, it's useless. Live Chat Support is okay, but is hit or miss. Go for the phone option.

I wish there was an option to have just one color page, like for my map, instead of needing to make the entire book color.
