G'day Everyone, I know this isn't as "action-packed" as you and we would like, but it is the reality of fishing (especially for beginners like us). Still, I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for your support! P.S. Shout out to the helpful young fella at Repco Morayfield who watches our content, said G'day, and gave us some great "intel" for chasing pelagics in the Bay. Cheers :)

Do note a mild spelling mistake at 4:00 ; you're is meant to be your. I do absolutely love that in hard to hear sections you put subtitles - very smart!

when you see fish feeding at the surface like when you were trolling you should stop and cast a few baits into the middle of the action

Don't get discouraged guys. A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.

Hey mate heres a tip, run your shallow lure out back and your deeper one closer you will get heaps less tangles like this. If u havnt tried yet try the nomad design range of trolling lures I have heaps more luck with them. Cheers

Ok, yes I get it - thanks for the tip! Will do, cheers :)

I’ve had a few days fishing without even one bite but still enjoyed the day. Excellent as always Mark 👍🇬🇧🇦🇺

I have to credit you Mark for being one of if not the only guy who posts fishing trips with no fish being caught , I love that you show everyone that it doesn’t always go to plan and sea isn’t full of big snapper and coral trout just waiting to be caught I’m sure we have all had days of exceptional weather and the bloody fish just won’t bite , that’s why I fish further out now I don’t think the deep water fish are as susceptible to weather and tides anyhow I’m dribbling on You know the old saying “it’s fishing not catching “ Cheers from down south

Hey! Just wanted to say I’m really loving your videos. So many fishing channels out there don’t post the tricky days out. Fishing I think really is all about trying and learning. Don’t get discouraged. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done 12hr trolling days with not even a touch. But when it comes together it feels even sweeter. Keep it up guys😊

Agree with other commenters that I run my deep diver close, shallow diver 20m further back an a skirt waaay back equals no tangles unless u get a psycho hookup who decides to run right thru the spread😁 Stay safe guys🤙

We all have hard trips like that one. I usually learn more on hard trips than I do on the easy ones. Keep at it! When trolling I follow some basic guidelines. Deploy lures in order of shallow to deep. (Deepest closer to boat ) Retrieve in the reverse order deep - shallow. I also like my deeper/closer lures to be a darker colour so they stand out against the motor turbulence. The shallow lures out the back are brighter colours. I've found the optimal speed is 10km hr but each lure is different. By running the same brand if lure you can usually have all the lures swimming thier best. If the livies are not cooperative try smearing an attractant like s scent on the hook feather. The floating bouy on the anchor rope looks an anchor bouy. Basically when you drive forward in an arc the bouy slides down the rope and lifts the anchor to the surface.

Everyone has those days where you get skunked. Difference is most KZbinrs just don’t put out a video that week. At least you’re keeping it real

With two divers out you could also run a skirt from a rod in the rocket launcher in the cabin. A small pink squid will get eaten by all, on wire if you think it may get macked.

Love the video. Get a couple of paravanes with 3 inch Barra spoons. Troll 4-6 knots. Mr Bait has them and Spyro has some good information on how to rig them. Other you tube channels have information on them s well. Easy to use and very effective for mackerel, both school and spotty, as well as bonito etc. Good way to find ground. Troll around beacons and wide of them.

What an awesome way to spend time with your son! This is the most honest fishing channel lol that’s how 95% of my trips go but A bad day fishing is still better than a good day of work and if the fish were always biting they’d call it catching not fishing!

awesome man I didn't know you also had a fishing channel. Keep it it up!! Maybe we can see some catch and cook videos with recipes from your garden ?

Thanks mate! Yes, we are working towards some catch and cooks - very keen! We need to catch something first lol... But seriously, I appreciate the suggestion, and I think a catch/cook combined with ingredients from the garden would be fun and work well. Cheers :)

You can troll along some structures like a cliff edge or dropoff.

The people with the stuck anchor need a rope with a float on it tied to the back end of the anchor so they can pull that rope and it should reverse the anchor out of the reef/rocks.

Ohhhh... Thanks for clarifying that! Cheers :)

Trolling = hand reel with desired set-up (normally 200lb braid, spinner, 1m tracer line, spinner, tracer for hook/lure). Tied off at cleat/tie-down.

Ive found that certain species are at very specific depths in the column. I've been trolling at 30m and never got a hit, listened to the radio and heard 31m. i slowed down, let out some line a bam! fish on. Also as you descend in the water certain colors drop out of visibility, fish can no longer detect them. in short, certain colors at certain depths work. just a couple of things ive learned through the years.

I wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks for the tips! Cheers :)

Lads with the bait fish you need to burly them up a little … premixed or chop up some pilchards .. that will excite them .. the float is a retrieval method for anchors . Try casting different size lures at the school of fish busting up .. tuna slugs of different sizes match the hatch .. good luck 🤞
@sammcjunkin9200 Жыл бұрын
They make a de-hooking tool for removing the hooks on sabiki rigs. Put the weight at the end of the rig into your live well, keep the line tight then use the tool and they fall right in the live well. You don't touch the bait with your hands and they live longer. I like the one with the straight handle better.
@pauljohns1016 Жыл бұрын
The float is the hook the float onto the anchor rope and they pull the float down and it’s supposed to freed the anchor with the foam floating up ball to the surface

Throw out some chum to bring the bait up to where you are, Not a whole chum block just some chopped or ground up fish leftovers.

I do this shit all the time. Troll for hours and go home empty handed, some days are like that. Then last week I nabbed a 70cm goldspot cod within 5 min, what do you you do. I just fucked off back home
@waynemee8920 Жыл бұрын
Man, you're plans of attack are questionable. Maybe with planer boards and southern bay like you've seen? Slow trolling those liveys might have turned up many species. Maybe on a poor mans downrigger, behind a sinker. You'll get better, but you need to follow and replicate what others are doing in the exact same location. Tighter lines fellas.

A lot of days look like this… I was surprised you didn’t chase those fish feeding on the surface… trolling for me is either an opportunity to see what’s going on and find action to set up on, or a last resort if I can’t get bait or specifically target something… unsolicited advice from a fishery far far away

Mate I’ve learnt things from your videos before but episodes like this are a waste of everyone’s time. Just because you had rubbish day doesn’t give you the right to waste your viewers time also.
