A friend found a postcard of the orphanage my grandmother had lived in for 10 years. I cried! It is priceless to me.

I LOVE SELLING EPHEMRA . People are too into hard goods. I love selling local vintage restaurant stuff (menus, napkins, postcards, matches,) . I cannot tell you how many times I have sales from "my grandfather owned that bar / diner / restaurant". The best part is so much of it costs VERY LITTLE. I also love selling diaries , filled out by teens in the 1960s , 1970s, 1980s.

I've been selling ephemera on eBay for close to twenty years. A few categories that do really well are vintage restaurant menus (collected for nostalgic reasons)...and sheet music. Antique photographs and photo albums do extremely well too.

Do you sell sheet music for paper crafts or intact because it's by a famous artist? Or do both sell? I have a bunch of vintage music paper, but must is loose band and Orchestra music paper, not whole songs with covers. Hopefully that makes sense

I recently sold an old Australian telegram for $27 plus shipping back to Australia! It was from the early 1950's and had torn areas where it had been folded. It wasn't anything of real importance, it was regarding a job opportunity, but the old graphics were quite nice. I found it in a book I bought from the Thrift store!

Paper ephemera is not only for collectors, it's for ppl in the art community. I sell old paper and different types of ephemera on etsy and a little on ebay, to ppl who make ATCs, Mixed Media art, Junk journals, Smash books, Collage and more. It's an excellent market but a saturated one too. Great video, glad I saw it! TFS ~ L

After watching the Auction Professor and your videos it has pushed me on a path in reselling that I had no idea was a niche in collectibles. I absolutely love ephemeral goods, old handwritten letters, etc like you said it’s history. I hated history in high school, lol now I’m 48 years old with my magnifying lens going through a ton of historical postcards I bid on and Ive hit a spark in me... thanks to KZbin and the videos! Great video 😊

Ugh! My husband worked with a coin dealer/pawn broker and someone brought in a TON of those little Victorian cards. He said they threw them away because, "No one would want them." 😭😭😭 *I did cry when he told me weeks later...

So all those old ticket stubs I saved from the 70s might be actually worth something? I have a cigar box full of them. I also have a bunch of old newspapers from the 1930s and earlier that I found in an old suitcase when I was a kid. Still have them and tried to donate them to the local college historical research years ago and they didn't want them. Just not sure how to handle them or display. Some are very fragile.

Suzanne, I think you misread the completed auction listing quantity. All formats completed listings were >9,500. Completed auction listings were >5,000. Over 50% were auctions if I read that correctly. Great video - I love ephemera :)

I have a bunch of old magazines that I got out of storage recently. They were from the personal collection of a wonderful lady I knew growing up. There are SO many of them! I would like to sell some but one of my main concern is how to ship them safely either whole or pieced out by auto ad, etc. I can't seem to find much online about this which surprised me.

I was going through a plastic tub my oldest daughter packed from my grandmothers estate. I found a giant scrapbook for post cards with probably 100 cards. the postage stamps and post office stamps are dated clear back to 1908 so far maybe earlier I haven't gone through them all. I'm wondering how to ship cheaper than the $3.80 or $4.40 E bay says
@SuzanneAWells
@SuzanneAWells 4 жыл бұрын
You can ship first class envelope and add tracking - change the type to envelope rather than package

It is hard to find stuff in the internet to know what is rare or learning the artist to sell these.. I did sell a few thanks to eBay sold area, some of the same ones sell for more than others , I wonder if it is because one person might not know it’s worth

17:55 ... if you want to get rid of a girlfriend the best thing to do is write down all sorts of criticism of her in a diary/journal and leave it out in the open. she'll find it and look for anything you have written about her and bingo. problem solved.

I never knew it was called ephemera? Ephemera may be the key word I’m lacking in my search of the 1918 Red Sox Ruth photo-ephemera. It’s funny but I feel like a tit that I haven Heard the word ephemera attached to my hobby lol but I have never done the photo thing like this in the past so I have a kind of pass on this one. Anyway please help me. I also love beautiful handwriting and it’s a shame there don’t teach cursive anymore it’s an everyday art form. I can’t read cursive lol that is just sad. It’s funny but a lot of the younger generation can only read Digital text it’s sad. I also have Victorian trade cards,baseball cap anson

Diane Hutchinson - Besides having no knowledge of cursive, the majority of millennials can't spell and have no understanding of proper grammar. From what I understand, it's not taught in primary school and only taught in college/university if your chosen profession involves writing. It hurts my ears listening to them speak - forget about reading. Having a mother who was a writer and a father who was a PhD, it makes me beyond CRAZY!
