Thank you all for watching and taking the time to comment its very much appreciated. We have been spending a lot of time researching correct values for each individual bayonet so we can sell to any potential buyer for a fair and correct price, I will make sure each one ends up in good hands and enjoyed and cherished as they should and not hidden away in boxes as they are now. If the sales are successful over time maybe a classic bike will appear in the shed, I don't think they will generate enough funds for the classic I've always wanted (Sunbeam S7) but it could get me started on a few things to clean up and move on to build up to one, we can all dream I guess. Thank you all again for watching, hopefully back out on the KX soon for the next video on here and I will behave myself....Don't laugh😂 Catch you all soon, take care.

The Sunbeam S7. More Harley looking than Harleys of that era.

Surprised he wants an S7, flawed design on a few levels.@@nicholaskemp2246

Solingen is the German equivalent of the English Sheffield. Good quality steel..., cutlery is still made in Solingen. Just thought i'd meintion in case anybody is interested!

I have one of the German sawback bayonets. Stamped Duisberg 1915. I think they were issued to the pioneer corps. Its a nasty thing but i have cut branches with it. An old customer of mine gave it to me, the story was a guy knocked on the door when she was a child just after WW1 and asked for a glass of water and then asked her mum if they would look after the bayonet but he never returned! Last time i looked it was worth £120.

That is an important collection there, Craig. I think you should get them to Sotherby's to be valued and maybe sold as a whole. Maybe you'll get a museum wanting to bid or a private armoury collector. That zulu war one. I can imagine another Jonesey saying, "They don't like it up 'em Mr Mainwaring!."
@GrandadTinkerer7 ай бұрын
Not sure how organisations such as Southerby's operate. But it must be worth taking photo's and emailing them in the first instance, to see if there is any interest! I wonder if the 'Antiques Roadshow' is still going? Would love to see you on there!
@nicholaskemp22467 ай бұрын
@GrandadTinkerer Just give them a ring. They'll soon tell you if it's worth presenting for auction. Plus, if it is They'll auction them on days that specialise in militaria when people who are genuinely interested will be there.

Nice beginners collection. Wish I stumbled on something like this back in my 20's

I would contact Robert Tilney off the antique roadshow. It’s important to get their id confirmed and the right price. Good luck.

Like someone has already said you should contact some of the armoury museums they may be interested as a job lot. Pity to break this collection up.

Some wonderful bits of kit there Craig, hoping you get the prices they deserve

Craig. You must get these fully valued, and out to a specialist auction to get the best price. Good luck.

Fascinating stuff! To think they exist to dispatch an enemy in brutal and basic ways puts shivers up my spine! Good luck with the sale Craig. 👍

What a beautiful collection of Bayonets. Your father had a great collection and I would love to buy them as a lot but I don't think I could afford it or be allowed to bring them in to the country. The Australian Government ( CUSTOMS ) would probably confiscate them upon entry. 👍

Have a look on the spike on the No 4 MK 3. There should be a mark stamped on it ( I ) . If the mark is a couple of inches up the spike rather than close to the socket, then it as a very rare Sten gun bayonet spike that was used to make the No 4 MK 3. It would make a difference to some collector and the price .

Holy crap Mr Jones. Your sitting on at least 20 thousand Canadian. Lol. You could buy 50 Enfields lol or maybe even be forced to drag the dreaded lowly url out of mothballs. Or heaven forbid that silly turbo watchamacallit. Lol I 😊love your channel looking forward to the Russian bike being turned upside 😊down 😊 I know you have the ability to to make that motorcycle the most sought after bike in history.

I wonder how many of them have been used in anger. Be very wise before you sell any of them and get them properly valued as other people have already said. Very interesting indeed. Good luck Craig.

Hi Craig, stunning to say the least. I have done several WW1 and WW2 tours in France/Belgium and on occasions we've had Martin Pegler as tour guide. Awesome knowledge of weaponary of many sorts. He shouldn't be hard to find, as I know he has done some stuff on Antiques Roadshow as well. I'd give him a shout, before you part company with these items ?

Craig, the OA on the Australian Patt 07 is for Orange Arsenal, the factory where it was made. That unmarked Mauser bayonet should be an FN M1924 export bayonet, and the British one you said was for a Lee Metford, is a Patt 03 bayonet, it still had the blade of the Patt 1888, but a new pomel & handle which carried on to the Patt 07 bayonet. Nice collection!

Thank you, really appreciate the information

No probs Craig, also the shorter Patt 07 Aussie bayonet is for the Owen SMG.

Would they be of interest as a collection to the Royal Armouries (leeds) Craig? Just a thought.
@johnsshed9957 ай бұрын
A subject I know very little about .But I would imagin based just on the age of the bayonets alone they must be worth a substantial amount of money ,And am curious as to what 2 wheeled wonder you are about to convert proceeds into . Good luck Craig
