What I love about your sketchbook tour is that when you show the stuff you did when you were younger - you don't call it bad or put it down . Believe it or not that's a big deal! Young artists who are just starting and watch this video won't sit and compare and think their work is bad because you never said "oh this is bad, this is when I couldnt draw" which is what a lot of artists on KZbin do - I hope you understand what I'm trying to say ha ha you're a great role model for artists of all ages. We re the same age and you inspired me to buy gouache, and I absolutely love it ! Thank you for putting positive energy in my life :)

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to you, Amber! When I first read this comment, I was totally blown away by how much it meant to me. Having a positive outlook on my art is something I really used to struggle with and now I'm in a place where I'm confident enough to look back at everything I've done and see how it shaped me into the artist I am today so I really appreciate that you could recognise that! Thank you so much for your kind words, and that *you* for putting positive energy in *my* life

Its honestly something so rare you see on KZbin (at least with artists i choose to watch) You are a serious breath of fresh air - all of your videos make me think about much more than just the art itself (if that makes sense at all) Im so happy you overcame that struggle because you are truly so talented, and you deserve to see that through your own eyes.

Amber Ingargiola Your comment/compliment encompassed much of what I believe to be about her, too! I literally picked up drawing as a hobby just this week and stumbled upon her channel and already I can tell that she is an excellent person to look up to for advice and inspiration. This comment was so wholesome and refreshing to read by the way! The world needs more genuine kindness like this to be shared:-)

I really appreciate you being positive and not overly critiquing your older work. It shows a level of wisdom and professionalism that is really helpful for budding artists that might be discouraged by overly negative critiques on art that might be at their level. Have a nice day!

Prepare...for another long comment. lol 2:48 (Top Right) - I admire the different shades of color you used and the perspective. 3:21 - SOOOOOO MUCH DETAIL!!! You did a great job on that piece. 3:57 - That shading....is just......... 4:25 - PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE A FAN OF THAT MOVIE TOO 4:49 - Brilliant idea. I think I might give this a try. 5:41 - The "PORTRAITS" cover is pretty cool too. 7:04 - Teach us your ways... 7:17 - speechless 8:09 - 9:49 - I thought I was the only one with a reference sketchbook. I'll definitely make a sketchbook video soon. 10:02 - 15:18 - You're REALLY good at putting BIG concepts and ideas on small pieces of paper. I still admire the Bubble Bear large canvas piece though. Like I've said before, you've pushed me to experiment with different techniques and mediums. I think my MAIN issue is the fear of making a mistake and not being able to correct it. Will work on that. Also, I also enjoy looking at sketchbook/artist progression videos. It inspires us all.

@minniesmall8 жыл бұрын
Aw I suppose you can't be precious and hang on to everything though. Stuff is just stuff after all! Ermm on the go, pretty quick if I'm sketching people, no more than a couple of minutes, you just gotta stay loose and get as much information down as possible that you can add to later. If I'm drawing something that's stationary, I take my sweet time ;)

your original work should go for muuuuuch higher in my opinion!! $10 is usually the price for prints, not original work, but if that's what you wanna do, go you :)
@minniesmall8 жыл бұрын
I take into account the time it takes to make and the tools used. It's important to me for most of my work to be accessible in price, especially as I work outside of art and youtube, I don't NEED the money to make a living.

that makes sense !! 😊 i'm very new to your account so i didn't know you worked outside of art, but now i know :)

@parthesky7 жыл бұрын
You deserve higher. :) It is just fair considering all the work you put into it - your presence here on youtube, and your status as an admired human being who does art. PLUS, it elevates our work as artists. If we charged higher, they'd just point to people like you and go, well - she only charges $10 for her art, undercutting the work of other artists who are trying to make a living off of it. This affects the market considerably. I think you are worth a lot more than $10, whether you need the money or not. ;) just my opinion. :)
