I found this video because I went to the skating rink yesterday with my old skates from 9th grade and I was explaining to my daughter that the skating I do is called shuffling! She and her friends were mesmerized! I still can do it at 47 years old! Just like riding a bike…except I got blister on my toe…but it was so awesome and felt so good to do it! And the whole rink was reserved for one little birthday party so I had the place to myself! I had the DJ play all my faves like Dont stop the rock!! Such a blast!

I want to learn how to shuffle. Like is there a pattern or combination you do or do you just go to the beat? I've just always wondered how everyone is in sync with each other. I love semoran skateway, glad they opened back up.

I believe going with the beat is far more important than doing patterns or combinations at first. As you get the beat down then you would progressively introduce patterns then combinations. I am speaking out of my league but lets hope someone can chime in. Cheers.

yeah, start with the beat. the most simple forms of shuffling is just a bounce and push on each beat. the bounce can be as small as a bend of the knees. down on one beat, up and push on the next. naturally this'll start forcing you to add a little sway on that push as you get into the music. as you get better, and learn new moves, you can start adding them in here and there. but feeling the music comes first.

@@rollerkingonce what they are doing in this video unfortunately is not shuffling. So many people get "Shuffling" confused with just simply skating around the rink as fast as you can maybe taking your skates in and outward but not really "Shuffling." Watch a Tony Zane video or look up Jam Skating, that is Shuffling. Also look up "Jam The Spot" song they have a video with real skaters doing actual "Shuffling." Not trying to be an asshole just trying to educate a little 😁✌️💯

Everywhere I have been people express themselves to their best of their skating abilities and they are always happy to showcase them. I agree about the Skaters ( not shuffling), but the song was on point with skating music, maybe where you are from is not your style but this is what we grew up too in the 80's and 90's
