In order to have 4 riders in conference mode, you have to download the Sena Software Version 4.0. It is a free download available on the Sena website. The software includes other performance upgrades including Bluetooth v3.0, additional voice prompts and multi-point connectivity of hands-free devices. ~Ali

Group rider B SMH10 pairing. There are a couple ways to pair your headsets together. Terminology is important. Opening a intercom channel is an open channel that allows direct communication between riders. The manual talks about conference calls also but that is dealing with phone calls not intercom communication. It is important to realize that the jog dial is a on OR off button. It cannot make multiple intercom connections, it either turns them on OR off. Once pairing is complete by the above procedure any device can open the intercom channel to any other friend. The rub is if either tries to bring another friend into the open comm they will terminate the open com. They only way to bring another friend into the active open comm is for the friend not talking to either to tap the jog dial and enter into the already existing open comm. The fourth rider must do the same thing. It is important for the riders to know the pairing sequence so they know who they are trying to open the comm with. Again the jog dial is a on OR off button with the exception that while opening the comm multiple quick taps changes who you will try to reach. IE, one tap= the last one you paired with. Two jog dial taps = the second to last one you paired with. Third jog dial tap = the first person you paired with. Only up to three jog dial taps are operational as four will do nothing and so on. The nice thing about the above procedure is that anyone can open the comm with anyone else. IE A can open the com with D, B to C, A to C, or any other combination if you know how many jog dial taps to make. Or all four can be open. The open 4 way comm is referred to a daisy chain. If C closes their com with a single tap the chain is broken and D loses the open com with A & B. If he wants back into the conversation he can contact the B rider or the A rider. Remember that the C rider closed the com turning D's comm off. We went through the above procedure and but letters on our bike. Mine was NDB, letting me know that Noel is one jog dial tap, Dave is two jog taps and Bill is three dial taps. We did discover something that you will not find anywhere else. Noel and his wife also have a Pair of SMH 10's. We found out that if they paired together first and then we paired the other four together that everything works except that he can't open the comm with her but she can open the com with him. Proving that only three jog dial taps are operational. In this case we have 4 & 1/2 units paired together. There is a more simple approach to 4 way open com. PAIR A to B, C to D,and B to C. To open the four way com, A opens to B, C to B, and then D to C. The beauty to this set up is that it is one jog dial tap for each, (no multiple taps). It also only requires three pairings.The other procedure takes six pairings. The draw back is if the group splits up A cannot connect with C or D. B can't connect with D. If you go through DELETE ALL PAIRINGS you will also lose pairings with your Phone, GPS ect. If you do that you will need to go into your GPS or phone and find where in Bluetooth connections you have to FORGET the connection to the SMH-10 or you will not be able to pair with that device again.. Easy on my I phone but not easy on some other devices. We have been doing pairings over the top of other pairings between other SMH-10 units which messes up our matrix. Not sure if we can continue to do that without going through DELETE ALL PAIRINGS. I have asked that question to SENA but have not received a response yet. Doesn't seem to hurt it but have not gotten the group back together since. If anyone has other insight my ears are open, Good luck. We really like our SENA units but they do require some time to figure out.

The Sena SMH5 and the Sena SMH10 are compatible. ~Ali

Unfortunately, no. Bluetooth units are not compatible across manufacturers. Sena will only pair with another Sena and same goes for the F4. Cardo is a slight exception with it's ability to pair with the Schuberth SRC, as they are the manufacturer of that BT unit. ~Ali

In part, it's because each BT manufacturer operates on it's own radio frequency channel. In larger part, it's because they want to promote sales of their own brand. It's the same reason a Dainese Jacket won't zip to a pair of REV'IT! pants. ~Ali

To add a 4th person to the intercom (D), the new person must intercom call person (C). They can not link to person (A), only the third person (C) in a daisy-chain fashion. You can go to the Sena website to look at the manual for step by step instructions. ~Ali

@openeverything SMH10 intercom mode does not offer conference mode. One SMH10 can only communicate with one other SMH10 at any given time. An active intercom channel must close to activate an intercom channel with another SMH10 in the connection list.

got my duel set a few days ago, but had trouble pairing the two together, what i was doing wrong was i wasnt taping the jog dial i was holding it do just a bit too long, thanks to to friend i sorted it out.

I know this is not a cheap solution, but, they both can use the Sena SR-10 with 2-ways, correct and then communicate? Anyone know why Bluetooth comm's are not the same at CB/FRS is? I think they should standardize the BT so any manufacturer can communicate with any another BT device,

Yes, you can. The Sena that is paired to the non-Sena acts as the bridge to the rest of the Senas in the group, e.g. Sena-Sena-Sena-Other. -DrewZilla

Most of the newer Bluetooth systems on the market today that can communicate with four riders will have a conference mode where everyone can speak at once to each other.
