As a Canadian, I can say that health care isn't perfect, but at the same time that I support single payer health care for all, I also support innovation and new initiatives that will allow for improvements across the board. I have often said that if the USA were to put even a fraction of the money it spends on military towards single payer health care, it would be an amazing system.

Yep, if thats not proof that the networks are bought and paid for by those with special interest, I dont know what is. It is a shame that we have prioritized money as a measure of success when in all actuality no man got money rich without being a cut throat. This thing called capitalism has become skewed to the extent that most think that those that are wealthy are honest, virtuous people who deserve it.

He's a complete cock of a human being though. Look at the demand lists from talk shows, their videos in public (one specifically in an elevator when they essentially come in and kick other people out in a douchebag tone), one band member doesnt want people looking at him. Politics or not, douchebags they are.

Jared Fogel Day Care That's conjecture. You and I can be douches from time to time, too. He's human. But he's making his voice heard about a pressing issue that doesn't impact him personally anymore. That's pretty cool, in my book.

We studied the health implications of reducing 20 percent of vehicle miles traveled in the 11 largest cities in the Great Lakes region. The resulting improvement in air quality would reduce the number of asthma cases by 2,500, heart attacks by 860, and deaths by 525 per year. Cost savings from avoided hospitalizations and deaths would be about $4 billion. host.madison.com/wsj/opinion/column/jonathan-patz-taxing-hybrid-and-electric-vehicles-doesn-t-make/article_d7c871d4-faeb-52ee-835e-84ccb1433142.html Processed meats pose same cancer risk as smoking and asbestos, The World Health Organisation Reports www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/oct/26/processed-meats-pose-same-cancer-risk-as-smoking-and-asbestos-reports-say Budget resolution would cut more than $1T from Medicare, Medicaid www.fiercehealthcare.com/cms-chip/senate-democrats-medicare-medicaid-cuts-budget-resolution-congress-healthcare-spending

Im out of work atm.... My father whos retired is on government insurance. He complained to me the other day he had to drive 20 mins to get his tooth pulled. Myself, I have horrible teeth and have been told repeatedly to get many teeth pulled....I cant because I dont have insurance and even the state healthcare when i had that doesnt cover dental. So now i take pain pills on an 6 or so a day basis to deal with the pain in my mouth. I also dont leave my house because i feel like I look like shit when i talk to people. Id gladly take government health care and have to drive 20 mins if i could.

Shadownian I'm in the same boat you are my friend. I have a hearing problem too. Hearing aids are way to expensive. I have medicare, but it doesn't cover any of the conditions I just described. I also had a massive heart attack six years ago. I didn't have any insurance then. So I owe approximately $200,000 which I will never be able to pay. We need medicare for all single payer healthcare like yesterday.

Exactly....when i tried to get some teeth pulled (2 of em were infected at the time) they quoted me 500 a piece to pull them. And of course you have to go to a specialist for that now because normal dentist are not allowed to pull teeth any more...its considered dental surgery..ugh. At that time the dentist told me if I didnt have them pulled the infection could kill me at any time by getting into my bloodstream, that it wasnt something to play with. That was a few years ago now.....still have all the same "teeth"....if you can call them that...lol

All of this, plus I'd like to add that blockchain technology can help save enormous amounts of money when it comes to 'pushing paper' and all of the bureaucracy around that aspect of the business. There's enough money to be saved, enough resources to provide healthcare to all and we have the will to get this done as soon as possible.

Bern is all fine talking & spewing about single-payer, universal healthcare ... until it's time to talk about who/how to pay for it all. You get big govt involved, you're just asking for more bloated costs & bureaucratic inefficiency. It, also, severely degrades innovation & quality of care.

10:11 "...I'd so much rather have the DMV be a shit show and have health care be taken care of..." :-D Amen, but the DMV is still pretty much a shit show. Granted, it is less of a shit show than the health care situation has been and would be again if the Republicans get their way. Actually, it is good to know there are more Republicans who are willing to not put millions at risk of dying of the flu than my cynical mind thought.

He has said that residency requirements for citizenship have been difficult because of their constant touring with AF. .Régine and their son however are both Canadian citizens.

He's being interviewed by a shill from the Sanders campaign, because he made a political comment that shares their worldview at a celebrity event. They're 'exploiting' a popular person by giving him a larger voice on their platform to preach for something he really doesn't seem to truly understand.

@peacewillow 7 жыл бұрын
couple points... why don't you try talking to lower middle class and poor folks in canada about how single payer has actually helped them instead of talking to rich celebrities who don't use it? and why don't you explore the notion that medical advancements will slow if the money dries up? that second one is a misconception prevalent in america that i almost never see being addressed....

A lot to learn, eh....Just got back from Canada last week. Talked to a guy with a serious heart issue. No idea when he will get treatment. Still waiting on that Canadian list. Options are what brings down the cost. Capitalism brings more options. Entitlement sucks. Oh, and your Canadian health care isn’t free, they take it out of your ass in taxes.
@jessepeters8514
@jessepeters8514 6 жыл бұрын
You need to stop talking to old grumpy “entitled” people lol. That is not how it works. If he had a serious heart condition he would be at the top of the list. It’s a triage system. I’ve had 5 knee surgeries, a few broken bones and I haven’t had to pay a cent! Maybe $20 for pain meds after surgery at the pharmacy. For some of my surgeries I had to wait 6 months. But I could still walk and function in the meantime. So this is common sense!!! If I had to wait a few frickin months for minor operation so that a child or anyone with a serious injury or illness can get emergency surgery or procedures...then I’ll do it. It’s about being a good person. Please don’t misinform other Americans. This will save so many lives!
@realise6
@realise6 5 жыл бұрын
Nick Fieldson - if the guy you talked to said he was on a waiting list for a ''serious'' heart issue, he lied. Serious medical issues are treated immediately. Elective surgeries and treatments however will take longer, it's true. And you are right, we do pay for our health care system. I personally pay a little over $200 a month in taxes into our universal health care system. I find it's a very reasonable cost considering I get A+ medical care when needed and I don't have to pay one additional cent to a doctor, a clinic or a hospital when something happens. Which it did when I had my appendix removed in my early twenties and when I broke my left ankle in my late thirties. I went in, got fixed and left. That was it. And my annual visits to my doctor are also covered of course.

"I would so much rather have the DMV be a shit show." The DMV is a shit show. Where have you been? Waiting for hours or all day just to get your car inspected. You seriously want health care be like that? You actually want to have a system that makes you wait all day just to see a doctor? NO How about we keep things the way they already are and maybe try to treat the DMV with the competition of the health care system.
