My friend’s daughter is 10 and has autism. She was having so much trouble with masks so my mum and I let her choose from our soft cotton selection (my mum makes loads of bandanas for dogs and masks etc) and she chose patterns and colours she likes which really helped encourage her and she’s been able to wear them! It’s amazing what a difference the fabrics can make and having the power to choose a cool one that you like 😍🥰

Heather M I am aware Heather, but if you pay attention to what’s going on in the United States at the moment you will see their are many healthy, able adults who cry and complain about wearing a mask just because it makes them uncomfortable and they claim they “can’t breathe” even though tests show oxygen levels are not compromised by most masks. Those are the people I am referring to.
@Juleru4 жыл бұрын
@@heatherm1434 Can't breath with your mask? Try a different type or wear a face shield! There's no excuse to not use something to cover your mouth if you want to call yourself a mentally healthy (-ish) person. I relative of mine has asthma and has troubles breathing with a mask and yet they still wear one (or a face shield on really bad days) because they actually value their live and the lives of the people around them.

I was in the Navy 30 years ago and my ship was out of NS Mayport. I was not aware of Huguenot Beach which is just across the St Johns River because I was too junior to live off ship or have a vehicle. While Mayport is the Navy base you mentioned it is not a naval air station per se, it just has an airfield that happens to support the helicopter squadrons that are deployed on the ships in the basin. I’d love some B roll from that area if you’re allowed. I spent many months on the club on Charlie pier and would watch the shrimp boats come in and out every day.

I think it is so cool that you can drive your car on the beach and be safe. Abbie had it made with the AC on and seeing the ocean at the same time. I miss the beach, but the closest one is Myrtle Beach, and that is just too crowded for the times. I'm happy Summer is healing. I hope she can eat soon. I was thinking Abbie was having a hard time with Summer having surgery and the temporary changes that brings. It really doesn't take much to throw kids off that have a hard time with change or just not fully understanding what is happening. I'm sure she is glad to see Summer getting better. Asa, you are right about one week can make a whole different world. I never thought we would have to live through a pandemic. Most schools in NC are going to be mainly virtual. It is hard for parents that need to work and they have little ones or special need children. Thank you for making the days go by easier and thanks to all of you for the laughs and just for sharing your lives with all of us.

I completely understand why it's important for Abbie to go back to school, for all people involved, and especially for her...It is so important for my son to go back to school, he is 11 going into 6th grade, he has an IEP, remote schooling was a complete disaster for him, I am a full time working mother and I would love for him to be able to go back to school, but since he is in public school, since his grandfather passed away at 66 in March from the virus, his great grandmother has thankfully survived it, I am too worried for him to go back, it's such a difficult decision to make. I'm glad that Abbie is in a private school where they are able to have much smaller groups. I just don't feel that going back to school right now is even an option for my son and I hate it because I worry about his future, they are just passing kids because what else can they do?

I would trust sending my school to JSA, I think they’re more aware of what’s needed to keep the kiddos safe. I’d trust other private schools like JSA, as well. I really don’t trust a public school that holds Junior and Senior kids. I have a 13 yr, 8th grader this year, and I’m so aware of the cleanliness of my boy. It’s like he’s allergic to bath water. I’m glad that our schools have decided to do online schooling for the first quarter. I’m hopeful there will be an answer to coronavirus in 2021. I’ve already accepted there will be a small gap in education and socialization with the kids of coronavirus years. So keeping them safe is my ultimate goal.
