Perfection! Thank you! I'm 61 years old and had fallen off my fitness practices other than walking and occasional yin yoga. I was clear that I needed to introduce strength training for my healthy longevity. This routine is perfect for me. I just want to thank you for this channel! I've been suffering from an injured back and hip (now with rheumatoid arthritis!) for the past 6 years, and I've been searching for a low impact exercise routine for some time now that is gentle on my body but still makes me feel like I'm actually doing something (without further injuring myself!). I'm not yet 40, so it's nice that these "senior" workouts feel like more effort than the one I tried at the YMCA pre-pandemic. Awesome! I am one of those persons that would like to follow one and only one instructor once I feel that she/he is extremely helpful in my workout journey haha I have back problem aka bulging disc. Pilates has helped improved my condition so much, is it okay if I request exercise series for core strengthening without bending our backs? much appreciate it.

Thanks Tiffanie! That's awesome that pilates has helped your condition, a bulging disc is painful! As far as ab exercises go, have you tried my standing abs workout? I would think the standing position would be good for your back as there is not any rounding of the spine. I would also recommend my cardio & strength workout that's osteoporosis friendly. Again, there is not rounding or curvature of the spine in that video. I hope that helps!

I loved this upper body strength workout using one weight and focusing on one side at a time. The time flew by and I felt that it worked almost every major muscle in the upper body using very unique and different moves that I hadn't seen or done before! Thanks for this lovely one which I followed up with your 22 Minute Strength Training (Osteoporosis Friendly) Workout, which also used some very unique and different moves. I actually did this workout using 8 lbs. and got through it, with a little soreness in my left arm…..but not for long! I actually couldn’t decide between 5 or 8 lbs., but I’m glad I challenged myself and chose 8. I did a 5 minute warmup before doing this, as it was my first workout of the day. Also included the one mile walk and back pain stretch class. Thank you again!! Love SeniorShape!! 😊

The weekly program is almost all new for me, so it won’t be boring. I started with dumbbells for my arms. And specifically with 8 pounds! But to my amazement, I almost made it! Only when lifting up did I take 4 pounds. So next time I will succeed! Thank you so much Lauren for the very motivating workout!

Sure Susan! Putting these two together is a great total body strength workout. I like to alternate my strength training days with my cardio days, so make sure you are some cardio a few days a week along with your strength training :)

After doing what I consider intermediate level workouts with 10-15 lb weights, I resisted senior workouts, thinking they wouldn’t be challenging enough. Alas, knee and shoulder problems forced me to reconsider. One day I stumbled upon your channel, and I’m so glad that I did! I love that you incorporate balance as well as strength into the workouts. Your calming, gentle presence is a welcome change from other workouts that have me feeling pressured to keep up and perform complex moves that leave me feeling frustrated, and if I’m not careful, injured. Please keep these workouts coming-they’re just what I need!
