Just listening on Shure IEMs, but man the 990s sound much more alive. The 560s almost sound dull, like youre bypassing plugins on a mix. I'd say that would be good for an unmixed song being flat like that, but these are finished songs. I'll still have to try them both out , but at the moment I'd pick the 990s based off of this.

i actually have opposite thoughts. 990s are so piercing ,i can not even listen to it i have to immediately turn off the song. Altough you are right about 560s being a little dull ,it's kind of more satisfying to my ears just because of it. If i must make compromise,then i would take 560s. 990s are so piercing it's ridiculous

i use the ultimate ears ue 5 pro..also own a pair of shure but the UE sounds better for me also own the dt990pro for my rig..but i also look with one eye in sennheisers direction 😂😂 life is expensive as an audiophile

Colorization too often gets misunderstood for detail. 560s>990 pro. Especially from a mixing perspective

Thanks for doing this! When you own a pair of Sennheisers, you don’t notice the “veil”, bc they sound pretty darn good (imo)-but holy moly that veil is so obvious here. Interesting!

I had both and then sold the 560. The sound of the 990 gets better the more you use it, and the ear pads must be replaced as the new sound disappears.

nice video, i have the 250 ohm dt 990s but i ordered the hd 560s, looking forward to having that sennheiser sound again. had hd 600s like 15 years ago.

​@@Hashtomte​@RegularManDa i prefer the tonality of the sennheiser much more than the beyers, the sound is more pleasing to the ear and the bass is clear/on point and not muddy. For modern trap music 808s sound great on the 560s.

@@jerzilla Oh nice! That's weird... I broke my old headset so I got some old steelseries, tried to compare 560s and 990 pro with audio, but was impossible. The 560s did sound so muffled meanwhile the 990 Pro were way more clearer in every aspect. But that could have been my amp messing with my current steelseries. Anyway pleasant to hear your thought on the 560s, because I actually bought them just 2 hours ago. Couldn't decide between TYGR 300 R, 990 Pro, or the Sennheiser HD 560s

@@jerzilla That's where the HD 560s will disappoint me I think, I usually compare my skullcandy crusher, its an extremely bass based wireless headphone. 560s felt muffled meanwhile 990 had clarity. The bass in the 990 felt heavier but weirder. I went with the 560S even if they were lowest on my list with these 3. Hoping my amplifier will help with what people call "neutral", but for me, muffled.

Purchased the HD560s new last year and recently buying HD6xx. Recommend buying a 2nd hand pair of HD6xx instead of HD560s. Picked up a pair recently 'as new' under $130 and feel the HD6xx are significant upgrade from the HD560s. Great paired with ifi stack.

The Beyerdynamics sound way better they have a good bright tone to them for mixing/mastering. The sennheisers are more for just critical listening.

owned both ...altough beyer does sound more lively, 560s is in another league of perfect transparency and neutrality. 990 still very good do if you want an unnatural more fun sound

I have it on my list to purchase the DT 770 Pro, most likely 80 ohm variant, guessing that's the most popular model? I'm currently elbow deep in another gameplay series, but I will revisit the music sound demos with new headphones in the future.

I have both. Can't say which one is the winner. DT 990 Pro for sure got more ''fun'' sound, they get better the longer you use it, but sibilance is present and sometimes it sounds awful. HD 560s sounds more neutral, more harsh in most music but they dont have that sibilance. Bass is good in both headphones. They are both average comfortable, but HD 560s is just little better i think. DT 990 Pro has higher clamping force to me. Before i had HD 599 for 7 years and it was the king of comfort since the first day. So final word, which one is better? HD 560s or DT 990 Pro? Its up to you guys, you decide if you want more fun sound or more neutral sound. If you hate sibilance and you are music mixer, take HD 560s. If you dont mind sibilance and want fun sound, take DT 990 Pro. Cheers 😉

​​@@assettobam4880 frequency response of 560s more neutral and close to 0 before 2-4k, and 599's one is more colorised looking like wave, so they sound more fat if we can say so. You can do an experiment, find a chart of freq response of both headphones and set the numbers to the equalizer on the computer, save these presets and then listen to the tracks, huffing from one to the other, it helped me to smudge the sound of many models without a live test.

I’ve read that DT 990s are particularly good for FPS games bc of their brighter treble sound, which highlights footsteps better

I upgraded from the DT990 to HD560s... And in Warzone specifically, the directional sound is definitely better, and footsteps can be heard further with the HD560s.

@@masonjar49 Its the complete opposite The HD 560s have a moire accurate soundstage for audio direction. A Warzone player wants to know WHERE the steps are coming from not how much treble they have. Also the DT990's are distorted which might sound better for listening tro certain kinds of music but is way less accurate and detailed. If your an audiophile who wants to heart original music masters from studio and hear the details then the Sennheisers are better. If you are using these headphones for music mixing in your home studio the HD 560s' also stomp on the DT990's

@@ДжонСнежный What do you mean ? The entire midrange area is left behind with these headphones, the bass has no definition and sounds false, the treble is the worst of all (unbearable) and false. Even my cousin who listens to Rap and Pop music doesn't like this DT990Pro, (These words: at first it's impressive but then it's rubbish) and prefers the Sennheiser HD595. The sound of the DT990Pro is V-shaped so it is unable to transcribe the original sound and that says it all.
