Definitely in a league of her own. From France: At the time of this recording, Senri was just 17 years old and was the leader of the group. Today she is 24 YO, we can see her progress in these two virtual concerts that she performed in her studio, using soundtracks of her own music but without the drums line ... Beyond the precision, the dynamics of her playing and the subtleties of her sequences, we can also admire the elegance with which she manipulates her drumsticks (particularly the movement of her hands and the flexibility of her wrists ...), the destructive power of her double bass drum kit and her rigorous mastery and relentless snare. Admirable and talented Senri !!! (And yes, when you love, you don't count!) [Lors de cet enregistrement, Senri avait tout juste 17 ans et était le leader du groupe. @@davestafford8273 Yeah! There are a lot of people that have fallen down the Yoyoka rabbit hole! I've watched all of her 211 videos and most on her Family Channel and Members Only channel. There are so many Japanese top tier musicians. They just seem to be more dedicated to their craft than the rest of the world. There are a lot of reasons for that according to what I've read including, but not limited to: parents making their children learn (mostly classical) instruments so that they can put it on their college entrance applications. They compete at the junior level for the same reason. They also make them play so that they will be respected in the higher levels of society. Fortunately, Yoyoka's parents have let her be her own guide and (continue to do so). She has learned for the pure pleasure of it.

There have been many good reactions to Senri but you are the only one to have mentioned the one point why I love Senri's playing. She never over plays. Everything shoe does sits magnificently to the music. I believe male testosterone filled drummers and other musos ego that causes technically proficient players to over play. Gives you inspiration. Then your reaction explains and inspire others. I'm a guitarist yet watch so many drum reaction videos from you , Rooney, wave potter and bunch more. I watched yoyoka during lockdown, then Murata Tamu, Senri,. I don't watch guitar reaction vids or how to play this or that complete with tablature. Playing with jam tracks is KZbin guitar practice for me. Why would I watch ten times more drum reaction video when I don't even want to play the drums. Seriously, none, no desire to sit on that stool and pick up the sticks. It does improve my guitar playing. Feel, timing , tempo , dynamics and more. I'd pick up terms and go to my drummer friend and ask "what the hell is a ghost note? Define in the pocket?" Shit like that and what makes it so hard? Then I start ask how, what, why he got into drums. Then he starts thinking and remember the reasons and gets inspired . Mission accomplished . Now I got a good old school hard rock drummer within walking distance.

Ahhh... but there's a big difference between Senri and Yoyoka in those earlier years. Yoyoka is still only playing covers, and emulating drum parts that were created by others before her. Senri created her own drum parts and solos since the age of 12 and had an album deal at 14, where she created all her own parts. I love them both, but Senri is a more creative and she sight reads. Yoyoka still has a ways to go in both of those respects. But Yoyoka has an edge in all around musicianship when it comes to playing other instruments. Both are supremely talented, and we, as fans, are the beneficiaries of watching them both grow in their craft. Oh, and let's not forget Akane Hirose from Band Maid. She's also a top tier Rock drummer in her own right. Oh, have you seen Tamu Murata? She didn't start playing drums until she was 15.
