For every 10 low end (psa,anderson,bca,ati) maybe one mid or high end ar dies. This rifle in this video should be the most expensive rifle on the market. Absolutely bomb proof.

It took me a few years, i had some other priorities on my 2A list- I finally got the HM Defense Pistol upper. I live in a restricted state so i had to build a fixed mag lower, but I am legally able to build a pistol around it and Im not really an AR guy- so this is my one and done and I love it. super durable. a bit heavy though.

they are bomb proof. every rifle that HM puts out has a match grade barrel. in 4 years HM still hasn't had one of these bolts come back broken. not even after they licensed the bolots to young manufacturing. with match ammo they are sub MOA rifles. after the first one, now noone I know who shoots will own anything else. These out shoot rifles that cost two times as much.

I did not own an AR_15 type rifle for years but admit I came around to the platform because of the multitude of options and american mfg. It is my pick for SHTF along with a good 22. The round is NATO which should be a must for re supply. It also has plenty of loading options for any game in North America. Many people bash the platform but it just makes sense for a multitude of tasks. Parts and ammo are also a prime consideration. Good accuracy and ballistics make this a great choice for SHTF.

The gas block is innovative, and an interesting thought on the cam pin. For a "SHTF" and defensive rifle, muzzle breaks are just silly. A flash hider is a more appropriate muzzle device for such situations, in my not so humble opinion.

This comment may be late af, but the gas block is one thing that I’m insecure about on my ar15. It is low profile and has set screws, like you said I’m worried about it coming loose while firing. I’ve thought about swapping it out for a pinned system but now you got me thinking with that integrated gas block.

I read about the M16 and indeed heard that the original version when delivered to Vietnam had problems which after testing it was found that the new 556 round was the cause due to low power which didn't eject the cartridge especially when the m16 fired on single shot .

Up grade the mil spec buffer and spring to a JP or a Armaspec Steath Recoil spring. If the standard buffer spring fails or breaks, then the BCG will seized up, then lock up. Be a good idea to up grade that spring. Just my thoughts. Great video awesome rifle. Keep them coming!

Cool gun, I love the monoblock gas block. I prefer short boys for home defense though. My home has small hallways that make a 16 inch difficult to maneuver. These guys are definitely on my radar for my next 16" gun though. Thanks for the info.

The only problem is parts availability in a grid down situation. When those specialty parts break, your going to need to replace them with stock at parts, removing the edge gained.

Accupoint TR24R or TR25 and ACOG TA31 ACSS Aurora or TA45 are my go too for SHTF. I favor 12.5" Criterion Chrome Lined 223 Wylde Barrels . Super accurate and Chrome Lined . The 12.5 is perfect for CQC and out to 300ish yards. I keep an extra Bolt , and Cam Pin in my Mod 3 GFG.

I went with the AR because of SHTF availability of ammo and parts. I love the improvement they made on the bolt. I am going to order one. The one thing I’d love to see on the AR is a better seal system on the upper and lower joint. I don’t like dirt in my rifle and that is where dirt gets in. I suppose one could use gasket material to seal it up.

What do you do if something happens with that gas block? In a SHTF event, and your gas block shits itself on you, you now have a single shot rifle until you can replace the barrel. Nothing is perfect.

Going to pick my HM up tomorrow and added a red dot and bough some really good ammo made locally where I live. It’s called G9 an external hollow point the G9 I have in my Glock 43x looks so freaking nasty they have it for 5.56 2.23 9, and 40 cal both which I have for defense in both my HM and glock 43x.
