Many parents are responsible for causing sibling rivalry by openly praising and complimenting one child over the other. I know because it happened to me. Behind my back, my mother was complimenting me to my brother and sisters. 😢 I was subjected to physical and verbal abuse, and I didn't know why! I always wondered why they hated me. It was not until a few years ago that one of my sisters told me that I was mom's favorite, and that my mother would boast about me to them! My sister also told me that my mother told them that I was her only daughter who could keep a marriage together, because the other sisters were divorced! Now, I know why one of my sisters slept with my husband. She was trying to ruin my marriage! I am still shocked to know all of this! I think that I could have been unalived if I hadn't left home at 19 years old! 😢 In this case mom praised her deceased son, but nothing good was said about the other son's past good deeds.
