Sentinel is my favorite character in the Micheal Bay movies, he had compelling motives and was established as a character you would never fuck around him. And like you said, he is way more powerful than any of his opponents and is even able to take out Optimus Prime, it is just sad that people hate him because Sentinel is a badass character.

I have a theory! Because sentinel was locked in stasis for so long,his gun became rusty.But after his gun was fired a few times at Ironhide his gun became rust free,hence sideswipe not rusting away

I think sentinel has always been under rated. Also I think his gun in dotm might have had two modes the cosmic rust munitions mode which is leathal and a non leathal bullet based mode

Speed vs Acceleration might be a factor, his heafty vehicle mode might take a while to get upto top speed, hense Prime on foot catching. Though seems possible that he more durable in that form else wouldnt waste time transforming mid retreat. On a long straight his fire truck might be scairly fast. Also reactions not same as travel speed.

Well Sentinel is a prime, so he is VERY strong. And he is actually stronger than Optimus. And he was leader of the Autobots before Optimus was. And you say that a fire truck is not fast huh? Well Sentinel's one is a Rosenbauer Panther fire truck, and it has the speed of 83 mph and has 1,450 horsepower. Just telling you that's not weak at all.

Mostly his actions in the film. The comics actually develop the character in a very good way but the way he suddenly turns traitor is what I don't like and is still somewhat unexplained.

@@thefirebrothers3739 It's kind of easy to explain why he went traitor. Cybertron needed to be saved/rebuilt and he thought the only way to do it was by forcing humanity to do the dirty work. The Decepticons would gladly do this type of action as they still want to save their world and see humans as nothing more but *insects.* The Autobots however will never condone or even consider enslaving another species even if it could save their world. So Sentinel had two options let Cybertron remain a dead and barren world while with the Autobots or work with the Decepticons and finally save their homeworld. When one looks at it in the eyes of Cybertronians Sentinel was the good guy and the Autobots were the bad guys for choosing humanity over their own homeworld.

I generally think Optimus could have beat sentinel it’s a 50/50 imo sentinel is smarter more skilled and has a better range weapons but Optimus is much faster and has better melee weapons and the matrix I think it was for a dramatic affect which is why he was going to win and Optimus was taking heavy fire and was fighting a lot before fighting sentinel but they are both insanely strong but personally I think Optimus could barely win
