I've had this Sentry Safe for a while thinking it provided reliable security for my valuables at home. However recently when I tried to open the safe, the handle was stuck despite entering the correct passcode. I tried entering the code many times and tried the KZbin recommended tricks like rocking it, hammering the door, vibrating the door (with a massage gun) while pushing the handle but no luck. Finally I decided to just cut open the safe. It was surprisingly very easy. My advice is to avoid these cheap safes. Imagine you are about to leave for a trip and need to retrieve your passports or cash in the safe only to find out the solenoid that activates the pin to release the handle has gone bad. I guess the only good thing about this experience is that it was discovered during a time where I didn't need to urgently get stuff secured inside.
Here's a video to show just how easy it is to cut open this safe. A drill and a reciprocal saw is all you need, plus 1-2 minutes of your time. If you have a Sentry Safe I would strongly recommend you take your stuff out and not use it. If you do still want to use it, use it as a fire resistant box and DO NOT LOCK IT. It took me 2 minutes on my first try. I'm sure I can now do it in 1 minute.
