Amber Xiong Right!? I was a bit apprehensive about the sugar myself, but I just love trying recipes the way they're intended to taste. If I don't like it, I'll adjust it next time. This sandwich was delicious! And I decided to put some of the sugar in the egg instead (Japanese style) and reduce the amount of sugar sprinkled over. Simple and astounding.

This recipe is amazing! I didn’t have ham but figured I’d try it anyways and now...I’m gonna make it all the time. I bought the pre shredded cabbage ‘slaw’ and added more carrot and the other veggies. Absolutely in love with how easy and tasty this is! Thank you for sharing this bomb recipe!
@LePetitNuageGris7 жыл бұрын
I just made and am eating this right now, and let me tell you: I want another one. Lol I didn't have cabbage on hand, but I was starving and needed a slightly unhealthy breakfast fix. I immediately thought of this recipe. I used zucchini and mushrooms in mine in place of the cabbage, and I added some sugar and sesame oil to my egg mixture. I also didn't put meat, and I used aged cheddar slices. And I cut down on the sugar sprinkled on the sandwich because a) sugar in my egg and b) it suits my taste. BUT I have made it the original way as well, which I loved. I'm missing the cabbage... All I can say is that this is the best breakfast sandwich, hands down.

This video exactly reminds me of my life back in Korea. My grandma used to cook those toasts for me as a snack or meals. She had run her street food section at a department store about 20 years. And that recipe resembles that of my grandma. You can also get frames when you toast the egg mixtures, it will help you to flip that easier. Some ppl might find sugar, mayo and ketchup at once is weird but that’s the key of that toast try to follow recipe as she says in the video

I just made this, it was really good! I've never put sugar on a sandwich before. This is like a mix of grilled cheese sandwich and okonomiyaki I thought. I like both of those, so why not? All these ingredients are always in the refrigerator! Depending on the season and where the bread comes from... I think I could make ten of these for less than four dollars!

My boyfriend is extremely picky about food, not a fan of vegetables. HE LOVES THIS. We have made it so many times. Do not skip anything, it’s excellent. Shockingly, excellent. It’s the perfect mix of breakfast foods and flavors. It sounds strange as hell to add ketchup, Mayo, and sugar, but don’t skip it. Each part is a necessary layer of flavor to make it flow right. Enjoy.

Tasty and really filling. Good enough to be the main meal. As for the sugar controversy, I made one sandwich with sugar and another without it. The difference is very minimal, I would prefer no sugar option as it's caloric enough as it is. I will definitely make it again sometime in the future!

Why are you using two different types of onions? Just curious! Good Video
@tvan7188 жыл бұрын
Army Guy > Ive only been making asian dishes for a little while, but its a common theme in just about every dish that I've made. The white onions get sauteed in the beginning with the garlic/ginger along with the "whites" of the green onion. Nearer to the end, the green parts are added for extra flavor and color.

I made this today and used a bag from the store that had chopped onion, carrots, red and regular cabbage, and green leaf lettuce (bagged salad). I added more onion, carrots, and celery that I had to use or throw it out in a few days 😆 I did not use ketchup because it’s too heavy in the morning for me. Everything else was the same. It’s all about preference. This was VERY heavy for breakfast and I could only eat half! It’s filling and amazing! If you don’t eat a lot regularly, half a sandwich in the morning and half for lunch could hold you off until a light dinner. I loved all the veggies and warm buttered toast 😍🥰❤️

@Speak the Truth pork meat is one of those things that works with savory and sweet at the same time, so it's kinda hard to go wrong with ham. if you put alot of things that are edible together, and add ham, more often than not, it will end up good. ham is kinda like wonder glue when it comes to sandwiches.

Esp in America we have sweet Breakfast items like syrup and jelly and nutella etc. I really like the fact that you added sugar tho i may add syrup or jelly now that I think about it! Thanks alot!

American sandwich has lettuce (can add tomato too) but for an Asian like me who grew up with savory food, your kind of sandwich is really filling. one thing I like about your sandwich is that everything is available in my kitchen. I would waste lettuce most of the time bcoz i'm not really a sandwich person. thanks for posting this! :)
