Love it when you and Dan fish together! You guys are fishing right near where I typically fist. If an old geezer in a 17 foot Sea Hunt comes over to say hello - it's me!

Love when your fishing here off Northport. There is always a great mixed bag in the Eatons Neck waters every fall. With cooler weather this coming week it should be red hot fishing next weekend!!!! 🍹

@@mikehunt1962 thanks for the intel man I’ve been really wanting to learn more of that area as it just looks so good. Can’t wait to get back out there as soon as this wind lets up!

Nice keeper seabass Peter 💪👏🔥 next season I want to install trolling motor because I don't have the strength to pedal so much anymore 😅
@PeterRanieriII4 ай бұрын
thanks 💪 still cant get over that cobia man - love that you did it without any motor on the kayak too haha but yeah having a motor does help quite a bit for covering distances thats for sure

Hey Peter!, do you have a idea of when the stripers will be hitting in the western bays?
@PeterRanieriII3 ай бұрын
@@Nikomastorakis hey! They gotta be here soon if not already. I was out on Sept 21 in the bay with the kids and was only catching small bluefish and didn’t mark anything that looked like bass. But that’s the last time I was out

Good stuff Peter. Only took me a couple minutes to realize exactly where you were, been fishing that area for the past 50 years. Great structure there , nice to see the weakfish. Seems like the fishing has gotten a little better over the last couple years, would you agree? Anyway, keep ‘em coming, digging the whole kayak thing.👍
@PeterRanieriII4 ай бұрын
wow thats a serious amount of experience! such great structure there, but the current still confuses me, seems to swirl a bit. I've only fished that area since last year so I wouldn't be a great judge of the trend but def better fluking here than last year. A bit to the west of here where I do have a little more experience, its been a good past few years for bottom fishing. Good numbers but larger fish have always been a little tough to find
@BenjiMac-q7l4 ай бұрын
Hey Pete how far off the bottom are you placing the knife jig? Hit bottom then give it a reel or 2, then jig? Thanks man love the vids!!
@PeterRanieriII4 ай бұрын
thanks for support, I'm pretty much just jigging it off the bottom, I wasn't really bringing it off the bottom to start jigging, at times I would even just let it sit on the bottom for 5-10 seconds and see if anything would nibble at it. 🤙thank you!

Hey man great video as always, do you have any launch spots to share on the northshore ive gone out a bunch out of Smithtown/SB area but outside of that really been struggling to find access
@PeterRanieriII3 ай бұрын
during the summer when the resident only beaches are open access is very difficult if you are non-resident. Try either the DEC launches or state parks if you want to try some other areas

Hey Peter, Nice fishing. Question here, I saw one of you video you were using compass loader. I ordered one of them and it broke, the rivet came out. Ordered second one same thing happened. Not sure any permanent solution. Looks like it is very common problem after going thru Hobie forums. It’s very hard to put the kayak on top of the car without loader. Do u face the same problem
@PeterRanieriII4 ай бұрын
Hey man, thanks yeah same thing happened to mine but I just left it without those black rubber stoppers on the corners that are rivetted. Its also funny I ordered a new one a while back but then realized those little stoppers arent really neccessary, the grey plastic can still take the scraping just fine, i think those rubber pieces help with the friction on a smooth surface maybe but I really dont have that issue loading from a smooth ground surface. if you did, maybe just some rubberized tape would suffice.
