This is the initial step to our home septic field garden. I will be planting a Dutch White Clover field from seed and showing you how I go about planting on a septic drain field.
In years past, we’ve had both grass and wildflowers on this area. We were looking for something more permanent than wildflowers, but less maintenance than grass. Dutch White Clover was the perfect compromise. Not only is it low maintenance, but also its present year round, requires very little inputs, and has a beautiful white flower each spring.
The goal with this septic field garden is to eventually have wildflowers intermixed with the clover in hopes to provide beauty and a food source for honeybees, deer, and other wildlife around the house.

How did you take such a heavy equipment over the drain field

The ventrac isn’t really that heavy. I wouldn’t drive on a septic field regularly with anything. However they did install the field with a backhoe and a bulldozer haha.
