Roguelike Run Structure
Each journey is less than 5 hours, and progress you make opens up new hero abilities, items, and stagecoach upgrades that can be used on your next adventure!
The Affinity System
As travels progress, heroes bond with each other or grate on each others’ nerves, leading to desperately needed combat synergies or journey-ending dysfunction. Manage their stress and interaction to keep the team together until the bitter end.

You’re supposed to hit the obstacles, they give you small amounts of loot. If you look at your map you’ll see a purple shield or orange wheel icon on the road, this means if you travel on this road you will take the corresponding damage no matter what and it’s entirely unrelated to the debris. Some roads have a ? On them and this means your heroes didn’t scout it so you don’t know what’s there, could be wagon damage or a fight or something else. Get to the watchtower icon (one of the nodes on your map) to reveal all ? Roads and nodes for the rest of the region

That was just bad timing and a coincidence, I purposely slammed into the walls repeatedly to test and I was only ever damaged on roads that were marked with the corresponding icon

So the way the meta progression works is like this For heroes you unlock them for a few candles, then you can put in more for some resistances, not that noticeable and also pathes which gear a hero towards a specific play style Not all paths are better then having no path but all heroes have at least one good path That is the main power you get in terms of meta progress You can also unlock gear food trinkets etc but I've only unlocked a handfull of each and don't feel like it hamstrings me You can also unlock pets and storage space but while those things are nice more often then not they aren't going to win you a run So to sum up, yes there are a ton of stuff you can unlock but other then heroes and maybe some paths you don't need any of it

That was the plan if the video did better, unfortunately it doesn't look like it is in the cards. It would have had to do pretty exceptionally well, since runs are so long that runs would have to be cut up which kills performance.

Hmm, the first one had a little Meta-Progress, but that was mainly to help in-between runs, which subsequently helped in-run. Having a lot of the Trinkets and stuff behind Meta-Progress is an interesting choice, but given it's not a campaign focused game like the first one, it does kinda make sense. If it was only unlocking more Classes and Trinkets, it'd probably be fine, but knowing there is potentially stat improvements also locked behind it does seem questionable. Even small upgrades are a lot in this game, since even something as small as a 10% boost usually comes with a downside, but if the meta unlocked stats came with a downside, then why would you ever buy them? So I assume they are stat buffs with no downside which is a lot for a game like this. That being said, I'm happy to watch more if you were to continue!

YOU are too ridiculous. Go complain somewhere else - shoo, shoo! It's the current standard set by the gaming community as a whole. Games that are actually similar to Rogue are referred to as "traditional" roguelikes these days.

You always put effort in to be very deliberate and accurate with the genres you use to describe games you play - at lesst for those of us living in 2023. I have NEVER seen a poorly titled video. I'm a huge fan of hardcore "Rogue"-likes/NetHacks-likes etc and I do notice how you make it easy to spot them by calling them traditional or old-school, etc.
