Thanks for the informative video. If im looking at the Synth part more than the 8 dio samples, is the Prophet X same as Prophet Rev 2? Are there huge differences between both with respect to the synth component? Thank you.

@@Lagspike99 Price was the major reason. Also Rev 2 has this really cool vibe which I started digging seeing a lot of videos on KZbin and Instagram. More suited for Textural Pads, Arps etc. Little bit more modern than Prophet 6 may be? P6 is P6!

Omnisphere is fantastic (and a lot cheaper) - but this offers something that seems so special. Even with the new v2.5 hardware control, Omnisphere doesn’t feel nearly as accessible as this.

Omnisphere has some vastly incredible patches and it just upgraded to 2.5 which allows for many synths like my REV2-16 to be used as a controller. I've been using Omnisphere since it was Atmosphere. 18 months ago I got my first analogue synth (Deepmind 12) and I've gotten away from all the VSTs except for Omnisphere in Ableton Live. Software is nice on a budget but oh man hardware is so hands-on more fun!

Honestly I think the yamaha modx may sounds just as good with in the very specific space of "modern day, radio like sounds"....you actually dont need to do as much adjusting...I. other words, you can make a "hit song" and enjoy what your playing for about $2000 less..that said, I love the prophet X, jus cant say its necessary for you to perform for a star like beyonce, usher etc... or make a hit song

I've been completely underwhelmed by the demos I've seen of the Prophet X (and even less impressed with the Moog One) ... but this is the best demo I've seen and the first one that makes me think this synth is as special as it should be. All the other demos have just sounded sterile and flat (as with many sample based synths) apart from that gorgeous piano sample of course, which is the best I've heard. However some of the 'alive synth' sound of the other DSI synths comes through in this at last and I'm finally hearing something a bit special. I have a Prophet 12 and Omnisphere so don't really need an X ... but if I didn't then I'd be test driving an X on the basis of this demo. At last a demo that 'makes it sing'! ... a technological step forwards and knocks the 'One' into the long grass for half the price... bargain!

Its intentional. The advantage to having it intentionally stepped is that you can tune the steps to a semitone, which i believe is how this filter is designed. Maybe you can get a smooth filter sweep by assigning the cutoff to one of those touch strips

Jack clearly doesn't know anything about synthesis or synth programming. Why was he chosen to demo any synth, let alone a relatively deep one?
