Series Sunbeam Rapier Windscreen Fitting - A Suggestion

A method showing how i fitted this new screen seal, it is meant as a suggestion to those who dont know where to start.
Its not "easy" easy, but doable, with patience and an assistant .

To ease the rubber place it in a bucket of boiling water prior to fitting and it will make it much more pliable to fit on the glass! When these were put in on the assembly line the body to rubber seal was given a bead of mastic prior to the cord being fitted. The cord was similar in size to that of the piping cord used on the seating upholstery. Soft mallets were used to ease the rubber onto the screens then when fitting into the vehicles a large leather pad filled with sand was used to force the screen into the frame! It was surprising to see the amount of force that was used with no ill effects. The chrome trim was always fitted after the screen was in the vehicle! Both the chord and the chrome trim had tools to fit them into the rubber!

Ive seen people use a nozzle from a mastic tube to feed the string/ cord around window screen rubber pulling nozzle backwards feeding in to rubber
