I saw Judas Priest in 1975 just about the time that their first album”Rocka Rolla” came out. They were an unknown band and only about 50 people turned up so we all stood between the front row seats and the stage. They were very loud and I was blown away by what I was seeing and hearing. I’m pleased to hear that they are still making great music and it looks like the original line up which is quite a feat.

My mum took me to see Judas Priest on the British Steel tour in 1980 when I was 11. It was my first ever gig. To this day I still have a soft spot for them despite metal not being my preferred genre of music. The guitarists were great at doing that dual guitar thing and Rob Halford is just a legend! And there are lots of songs that don't include a banshee wail or even a little scream...

When this sing first started I thought it was going to have a similar vibe to Iron Maiden’s “The Mercenary” because of the similar open string arpeggios and the main guitar riff having a similar melody to Bruce Dickinsons vocals of “Show them no fear, show them no pain.” Then when the verse began and the music strips down and I thought “Wow! Thats so reminiscent of something off Rocka Rolla or Sad Wings Of Destiny”. Then the arrangement of the intro riff supporting the chorus vocals and guitar solo brings the whole thing to resolve into a moment of enlightenment for the listener. Song writing at its finest. I saw Judas Priest live in Birmingham a few weeks ago and this song is amazing live.

I was fortunate to see the BRITISH STEEL anniversary tour back in 09. I was at band practice, all the other guys in the band were quite a bit younger than me, the guitarist says, " Anyone here like Judas Priest? My sister gave me tickets, but I dont really know them..." Well now. Lets say we go for a ride. I grew up on Priest and Maiden and Ozzy and the GODS of the 80's. They were outstanding. Prior to that show, the most professional " shit together" synchronized, powerhouse heavy metal performance I had ever witnessed was SLAYER in concert. SLAYER made no bones about the influence and impact of PRIEST on their whole existence, I witnessed the truth of this. JUDAS PRIEST are a well oiled metal machine.

I have been a Priest fan forever and Rob H is probably my favorite Metal singer. The production on the new stuff is fantastic (modern, fresh and not dated at all) and it is amazing that Rob H can still hit the notes. I agree the Drum sound is fat and authentic. I am pleased to see Glen Tipton still playing, as last I heard, he had Parkinson's disease. Of interest, the 2nd guitarist is the wonderful Richie Faulkner who is married to George Lynch's daughter ("Dokken"). Family Xmas jams must be quite something. No Banshee wail surprised me too - suspense until the next time I guess :)

Hooray you're back! Keep the chicken and David. Where is he? Did you bring me anything back from Australia (Bluey t-shirt/keychain)? 😆

Sometimes the unique range of an artist doesn't fit a song. Sometimes it just seems more of a forced gimmick. I mean, come on! You're the lead singer of the darkness! Your voice is amazing in all tones, the high octive range is awesome...... Sometimes, not all the time. ❤

First concert I saw as a teen in 1979 was Kiss, with Judas Priest opening. Priest were about to break in America a year later and were really amazing that night. I still love live music at 60, but Priest were the first band I saw live. Lucky me! 👍 👏

Seen Priest three times since Firepower was released. The fact they followed up that album with another great one is truly remarkable.
