I agree with you, I think serum is the “treatment” step (unless your retinoid comes in a cream or sth). I like to use toners to get hydration and nice ingredients, like green tea, Centella, HA into my skin but I would absolutely prioritise a serum with any “actives” over a purely hydrating serum. I mean, yeah, I’d love a Centella or a snail serum, but if it has vitamin c or niacinamide or peptides I’m way more likely to go for that one. I’m a bit feral over snail so once my face chills a little (literally, my face is on fire right now, I think I might be sensitive to sea buckthorn oil) and adjusts to retinol I’m getting the Benton snail essence to use in the morning with my propolis ampule, bc my CosRx snail essence is a bit “cling-filmy” for daytime, and when that one is done I think I will go for the new dual snail essence they launched bc it also has niacinamide. Just snail everywhere * Elmo on fire gif *

I have been using K beauty products for over a year now, and just now I know quite a bit about what ingredients work for my skin and what my skin needs. I am still seeking how to build a steady routine though, and have questions like: is it either better to focus on one skin issue, or to focus on multiple issues with several key ingredients in your routine? Does consistent use mean everyday, or is two or three times a week enough? Do you need to have a steady am and pm routine or do you adjust it to your skin condition? I would really love a video from you that helps me out 😊

Hi I'm currently using the Aqulabo lotus serum and the Isntree tw bifida serum in the morning. At night I alternate tretinoin/niacinamide prescription and an azelaic acid product the second night. I have mature, dry, dehydrated, rosacea and eczema prone skin. I use the cosrx snail essence morning and night btw. The Iunik snail serum was very irritating for some reason (must be one of the plant extracts at the latter part of the ingredient list) so please patch test that one on sensitive skin. I have previously used the Klairs watery oil drop and enjoyed it also. The Isntree bifida serum gives good redness reduction on my skin and at 88% of the product is the star ingredient. The lotus serum is very gentle and full of great antioxidants, whilst being fairly affordable for a good size bottle. Best wishes.

I have now read a few different articles to not use these in the same routine and the same with vitamin C routine, which means I can’t squeeze it into my morning or evening routine. I wanted to know if you had read or researched this at all. Have you tried the Illiyoon ceramide soothing ato gel? Anyone know if vit c is like retinol where you can build up a tolerance over time? I wanted to start using vit c and bought a seabuckthorn cream (purito) thinking it would be a gentle way to introduce it but my skin still reacted. I have been using it taking a few days break inbetween uses. I don't want to waste my time with it though if it's not something that gets better and I'm just irritating my skin. TIA
@scottsummers42344 жыл бұрын
Start with low concentration like Klairs Vitamin Drop Serum. It has only 5% vitamin c.
@samiha34594 жыл бұрын
I'm using the purito vit c serum and it irritated the hell outta my skin when I first tried it. At that time I had a number of active acne and my skin barrier was very compromised. So I let my skin heal for a week and only tried soothing and calming products during that time. After that I again tried the C serum and it wasn't as irritating as before. Then I started using it every 2-3 days. And now I use it every night without any irritation at all. So I suggest if you have wounds from acne on your face or a compromised skin barrier then give your skin some time to heal first and then go with strong actives. Always build up your tolerance before starting using actives daily. And if it still doesn't work may be your skin isn't handling it well. Drop that ingredient in general from your routine.
