Hi, just a little experience of mine for some of these products: Acid Duo Cleanser: Really nice texture, nice cleansing, bad smell, high drying level. Acid Duo Cream: Watery-slimey texture, bad smell, very fast results, i could only use it twice a week because more is irritating for me. Using it on my foot with Mugwort Cream and it even helped peeling the FOOT SKIN. Shook Daily Softening Water: The safest exfoliator i've ever used, no smell, 500 mL so i felt like i'm opening a bottle of ice tea lol, suitable for daily usage, really softens my skin, not very noticible effects if you don't have sensitive skin. BHA Liquid: This is an IT product for me, I'm using this once or twice a week but i think it helps my skins purging because pimples are really deep. Helps healing of pimples, feels like my skin is softer and less bumpy. Blackheads are slowly disappearing. Maybe a little bit disturbing smell but only for seconds. Good luck :)

Hi Kelly I use azelaic acid instead of AHA's etc. I have rosacea and eczema prone skin and although I use azelaic acid primarily for it's anti inflammatory benefit, it also provides smoothing of texture and brightening benefits. The other thing i use is snail filtrate which naturally has a small amount of glycolic acid in it's formulation. I can't use anything with an acidic ph (2 -4ph) which AHA's and BHA's need to be to function optimally. I get most of my cell turnover though from my retinoid and the combination of these things mean I don't need any other exfoliation. I don't use scrubs. but i may try a powder wash with enzymes if i need any extra exfoliation in the Winter. Best wishes.

What really works for me is using acids in the form of gentle face wash. Slower contact time, really helps exfoliate, but way less irritation because it doesn’t have long contact times with my skin. Once I rinse the wash I go in with mugwort toner and a nice thick moisturizer. For reference I have very sensitive reactive skin :).

I’ve had irritation with the exfoliating products I have tried but I feel like maybe I need *some* mild exfoliation to help with products sinking in better. But with the stinging, I have been told to stay away from all exfoliating products, that my barrier might be compromised. But I’m not showing any improvement in my skin or sensitivity and I question if my barrier is really damaged or not, and if it’s just sensitive. I’d like to try the Stratia liquid gold in the essentials kit, but it cones with the exfoliating product in addition to the cleanser. I’m sure the cleanser will be fine, but unsure if the exfoliating product will be, despite being promoted as gentle with mandelic acid.

Love this video, for the past 4-5 months I started to focus a lot more on gentle exfoliation and I am loving the results, and my skin isn't irritated. One odd thing about the By Wishtrend Acid Duo Hibiscus 63 Cream is that although I agree with all your points about it, it is one of the only products that sensitize my skin and make it itchy and "burny" (the other product is the SK-II treatment lotion but not not as bad as this). I do use the acid-duo cleanser every other day and it never sensitized me and feels like a normal cleanser. Could this be that I may be reactive to something in this cream? Because my skin is very tolerant and I've used much stronger exfoliants, vitamin C, and tretinoin in the past and non of them felt like this. P.S. Your hair looks so good in this video!

I use both the wishtrend mandelic acid and the cosrx bha, depending on if my skin needs some unclogging or some brightening. I also tend to use the aha one or two days before the bha because I feel like clearing the surface before going deep into the pores helps to avoid pimples when I 'm doing the bha deeper cleaning. You got me to really want to try the hibiscus cream though because it seems like it combines both my concerns, and I already always mix aha with my cream, because I let it work for about 20 minutes and it would dry out my skin otherwise
@TheDearyayah3 жыл бұрын
So how many times do you exfoliate in a week? Can you elaborate on your exfoliating routine?😂
@joy73673 жыл бұрын
@@TheDearyayah I don't really have a set routine actually, it really all depends on how my skin is doing at a given point... if it's congested and with lots of clogged pores or pimples I'd use BHAs, and if it feels a bit rough, almost like there's a layer of dryness that keeps hydration from penetrating the skin, is when I use AHAs. I'm also trying out a vit C serum at the moment so I try not to use them too much. usually before or around my period is when my skin is the most unbalanced and when I tend to use exfoliating products more, up to 3 times in a week I'd say, sometimes just targetting the areas with pimples. and sometimes my skin is thriving without this help so I can go without exfoliating for the whole week

Can anyone help me out? When I started my skincare journey in early 2020, I had a BAD reaction (that I idiotically thought was purging) from Ole Henriksen's balance skin line. I used their cleanser and toner DAILY. I followed their directions, suitable for daily use, and not only was I essentially exfoliating everyday with both the cleanser (AHA) and toner (BHA), sometimes twice a day too, and it brought out acne where I have never had it before (along my cheeks, I usually only get acne on my chin, forehead, and temples). I also added the Clinique Salicylic Acid because I thought it was treating what I thought was hormonal acne, not irritation from the absolute massacre of over exfoliation I did to myself. And that Salicylic Acid pobably made my skin worse too. Fast forward to a month ago, I finally get my skin under control and am focus on repairing my moisture barrier and addressing TEWL, having beautiful plump glowy skin. I then decided to reintroduce chemical exfoliants again and got The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid 7% toner because it seems to have rave reviews and a cheap price tag. My face got these awful red bumps everywhere over night leaving me with the bumpiest texture ever, itchy, angry red splotches all over my neck and, whatever it was, spread to my forearms,upper arms and calves somehow. I had to use a steroid cream to get my skin under control (and was too itchy to deal with). Unfortunately the patch test I did to my lower arm was fine so I thought it would be ok with my face. Always proceed with caution people!! So funny enough, the steroid cream helped skin look better than before. But with my period coming and hormones flaring I decided to reintroduce that salicylic acid from Clinique and the BHA but the blemishes on my cheeks are flaring back up to full blown pimples and white heads. I'm left to believe that my skin, which before this year I never thought was sensitive, can't handle AHA's or BHA's including glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acid. Should I just not chemically exfoliate at all? Help! 😞😭

Girl I gotchu. “Urea” that’s the secret. Urea is moisturizing but it helps exfoliate without irritation! I use eucerin urea repair 5%. Don’t wash your face in the morning. A thing that helps me a lot is to exfoliate with plain jobs oil. I let it sit for 5 mins and then I massage my skin to help with the clogged pores. Get a barrier repair cream for the night. I have combo skin so I use a gel from aveeno for those oily areas. There also a toner with urea. Tiam vitab5 is panthenol so it will restore your lipid barrier w/o the need for oils that may clog your pores. Just get a calming/hydrating toner (I use sukoyaka suhada) then go with the b5 toner and your urea cream. If you have bad pimples, use the cica acne patches that absorb the gunk and deal with the redness. A good extra that helps is masking while you showe cause the steam and water weakens the barrier. I buy colloidal oatmeal and make a paste with raw honey or just use one of those compressed masks for the shower. Remember to use a low ph cleanser and double cleanse with an oil cleanser first.

I do not have acne, clogged pores, or dark spots. I just have dry flaky skin from Retin A. I need something that is not too strong and will not cause more flaking.

I'm in the same boat. I got a sample of first aid beauty radiance pads and they work great! No stinging and no more flakey shin. I'm almost out and they are pricey. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative but just may end up purchasing them again. I use them maybe twice a week.

NOO! I have pretty sensitive skin and no burning at all. Very gentle but effective. I wouldn't use them everyday but maybe 2-3 times a week.

@@sarahr9323 How do you use them? Do you use them at night?

I've used them at night or the morning just whenever my skin needs them or when I remember lol. I think most people use them at night. I wash my face, use the pads, add any serum and lotion. I use spf if it's during the day. They just fit between washing my face and serum or lotion. No stinging and very gentle. I've tried pixie glow tonic and that BURNED. I think the FAB pads are quick, easy and gentle. Just wish they weren't so expensive
