SERVICE | British Army Documentary | Royal Irish Regiment

Service is a documentary project I am working on over the next 20 months where I follow some key events like operational deployments with our Irish Rangers. We are the Royal Irish Regiment an Infantry Regiment inside the British Army during some busy and challenging times and I'm excited to tell their stories moving forward. This is part one of SERVICE "Wessex Storm" .

Mate, as always amazing content. It's astounding that you've produced something that is undeniably better advertisement for not only your regiment but for the entire British army. The big wigs up in puzzle palace across the army need to take a very keen interest in what you're achieving here and allow people with your skill set to do this army wide and apply this level of commitment to the current advertisment campaigns the army are pushing out. Hey man, you make such great content. I'm going to try and draft next year. But recently sustained wrist injuries that I hope wont need surgery. Watching you put motivational stuff like this is amazing, I want to try get in the RMC as my main Branch of service. And some others. But I just wanna say, you inspire me to try and not give up, I'm turning 18 in about 2 months and 2 days. Glad you excited for basic mate get it nipped and then good times ahead! Part two of service will likely be in the winter follow a stint in Oman . However there will be a separate project before then about our history in 16 Air assault brigade and the Herrick tours

Well done, great quality video. If I can add some constructive points. It's quite jargon heavy (G2, det, Wessex Storm - was that humanitarian?). Think of this video from a 16-23 yr olds perspective and it will be even better.

G2 is intelligence, det is an abbreviation for detachment and Wessex Storm is a training exercise

It's a good concept mate yes and yes we are retaining our Ranger Rank moving forward, there's a lot more fallout from the announcement of us moving back to 16 Air Assualt brigade. The lead in global war and crisis response.

Great documentary. i have a question though, why is the British army making a Ranger regiment like the American Rangers when they have Irish rangers? why not just convert the RIR to a Ranger regiment?

Thanks glad you liked it and yes they are but two very different roles. I've got a few videos on the New Ranger regiment and a very basic overview of their role. So with Us we are currently undergoing changes to form a new capability called, “light, recce, strike”, This will be with in 16 Air Assualt brigade.

Yes the Irish will enlist in the EU Army. Strange the Irish do not want to be in the British Army but will serve in the UN army and the EU army when it arrives
